What you said is true but, Yammi streamlined the product and no longer incorporates the Viper back end that drops down and attaches to the hood. They make them all to fit the Sidewinder and Viper the same way. Kinda sucks cause that deflector had a nice purpose.
This would be correct and then add 30 - 50 lbs. of snow and ice in the sidewinder tunnel from a day's ride. You would then need to be on position 3 on the cam and torsion springs do not like to be topped off.
Thanks MrSled, ordered up a fuel controller, better to error on the safe side. As I said on another thread, "not sure why I'm doing this " with having a tuned Sidewinder but, I just find this sled fun to ride.
Both....correct torsion springs for rider weight is a must. Your stock springs are very heavy duty (250 lb.+ rider). For me with both my sleds (18 LTX Winder, 16 RTX Viper) came stock with 18# torsion springs. I'm 210 lbs. in street clothes, changed just one side to a 20# spring for a total 19#...
First thing I would do is get torsion springs for your weight. I had my QS3r's revalved so I would highly recommend to anyone to have it done with either shock (QS3 or QS3r). I had QS3 shocks on my Viper so I have that comparison. Not a bad shock, but it lacked rebound adjustment so I switched...
Yes, 14 and 15 MY's came stock with some stiff torsion springs. Good for a guy 240/250 (maybe more) in street clothes. If I were you I would call John @ Accelerated Technologies. He is so much more knowledgeable than anyone at Hygear.
Nothing....they are longer so you would need to run it 1-2 mm above the top of the sheeve. Some say they slip on top end. I ran one for a season and thought it didn't perform as well as an 8JP.
I found my winder with QS3'r shocks to be good right out of the box but not awesome. So I have made major changes to them and now they are awesome. With the fronts I had them revalved as setting #1 was way too soft and number #3 was way to hard, I now have 3 positions that work like they should...
Oh boy, decided to keep the Schmidt bros quiet trail muffler. In fact, I ordered and received a new Straightline header. Found a power commander from Attitude Industries also. Looking to bump the ponies a little on this sled. Not sure why I'm doing all this with having a tuned sidewinder, but I...
Nice work! I started last weekend with my groups sleds. Dropped suspensions and removed front shocks from 6 sleds. My shocks from the Sidewinder and Viper are in Cannondales hands currently for service. Then removed a bad heat exchanger out of my nephews 14 Viper. So it's a start!
I know a lot of you guys have messed around with Power commanders so I'm looking to get some feed back. Dynojet no longer offers one for the stock Viper platform but Attitude Industries does. Do I need one? Viper with horn air box mod, 3" can and installing the straightline header this off...
