Here is my final findings on TP clutching with orange secondary spring. I ran the secondary at 3 0 with a new belt and worked good at first then after 300 miles or so then had a foot vibration about at 50 mph. High speed went away. Came to the conclusion that the secondary was slipping. Pulled...
I tried the 3/8 shims for about 500 miles and I am seeing more carbide wear on the back end with this shim. I’m going to go back to the 1/4 shim and stay with that. I think as of right now this is the best solution.

Just shooting all a note on the orange secondary spring.
I have not blown a belt but I don’t run as hard as some people. I was wrapped at 3 3
I changed to 2 3 and I am up north now trying it.
I have 1000 miles on overall and was getting what seemed to be a lot of belt dust.
I am...
that was the only change I made. I am not positive that that raised the rpms as I am just starting to open it up. Have not had wide open space to do that until today

Results from 200 mile ride are:
Rode on same trails with same snow amount for the most part and less darting when letting off. Not perfect but close.
Sterling was lighter as I let the limiter strap out to the last hole and tightened the center shock some.
The Yamaha rubbers were hard as the...
Looks like your rubber is sitting on the top,of the cross, ribs of the pocket! That would lower that back end of the ski and the rubber would be supported. In other words the front of the rubber is in the pocket correct but the back is not quite in the pocket hence no need to shim. IMO

Your right on, on this issue as I rode my sled for 225 mile and noticed the the steering became harder and the darting started to show up when letting off the gas on hard pack. I came up with the same program as you did. I had some Bergstrom shims laying around to try. I had both 1/4 and...
Not quite done with my build yet but, have shamefully stolen ideas from this site. Thanks to Rockerdan who post his ideas and recommendations! Full photo to come. Here are the side panels that a local guy did for me. I just have to install them and LED lighting also. TD flash, muffler CAI and...
Ok dumb question but here it goes! Does it matter where the two hoses get attached? As you see on the one I made I attached the hoses close to each other.
Picked up the sled last night! Looks great and is still a virgin! Let the mods begin!! Not sure what my issue is but, the need for speed is in me, as seen in the background:)
