    Yamaha Steering posts?

If your looking for more horizontal bar movement as opposed to vertical bar movement, the mountain steering setup on the 15 and newer Viper MTX might be the answer. I ride an LTX (trail version) which I converted. After having horizontal bar movement, I find that I really dislike the lay down...

    129 uncoupled

Traction is the key. If you blow the track out, it will not transfer. I run a 2" Backcountry X on my 137, straps all the way out, softer torsions set on 1' and 160# center spring. I can tell you that this set up will transfer, and you can lift the front end at will.

    129 uncoupled

I think this has only been a problem with oversized fourth wheel kits, but you need to make sure they clear.

    129 uncoupled

For those wondering what a coupled skid is vs an uncoupled skid. In a coupled skid when you compress the front, the front of the skid will only go up so far (until the rear scissor hits the front stop) and then both front and rear swing together compressing both shocks. When you compress only...

    RTX Weight Transfer Rod

Geometry will not allow it. The only way that front arm can come off is to move rails to the rear, and front arm along with it. There are stops that prevent the skid from moving back. The rear scissor bottoms against them when the skid moves back. When that happens the rear arm swings up which...

    YAMAHA SHOVEL PACK SIDEWINDER M-TX SRVIPER L-TX M-TX S-TX X-TX SMA-8KS63-00-00

Not near as much room as the expandable tunnel bag, but more than the tiny stock belt holder. If you need a shovel and don't want to wear a back pack, it's a good option, but if you just want it to have more room and don't need the shovel, the expandable tunnel bag is a better option.

    Air box removal

Although it can be done without removing coolant bottle, getting that loose gives you room to pull the air box out easily. Only two screws holding coolant bottle in so it's super easy to get it out of the way.

    TY End of Year Ride

You earn a Gold Star for each stuck that requires assistance from someone else in the group to get out of. Kinda' like a notch in you gun stock so to speak. Generally speaking, when the more experienced riders in the group get stuck, it almost always requires assistance of one or more diggers...

    SRX in Copper Harbor

And I'm pretty sure someone wouldn't have thought to photoshop a 2018 Michigan trail permit on the windshield.....

    TY End of Year Ride

Great write up and great pictures Steve. Will have to get to Grand Island once, but hard to get out of the trees lol. Glad you hung with us on Sunday. Snow was deep and we all had a ball. Even the up and coming boondockers had a good time. I came with just over 100 gold stars and awarded all but...

Giving up on 4 wheel Rear Axle

Maybe consider OFT 3 wheel axle (all between the rails). I use wheels from Avid with a 3 wheel axle from OFT. Replaceable bearings and piece of mind that there are more than two of them back there.

    Fox upgrade kit.

Item No. is 206-61-204-2 Body Cap, EVOL 3, 90 degree, non rebound adj., no heim grooves. Note that I don't believe that this will work with spherical bearings. It does work with straight bushings, and with the spherical bushings that came on the 15 XTX LE models.

2015 viper mtx 153 rear skid set up

I agree. We run 125# in the rear on my XTX and the kid jumps it all the time. I have riden it in very rough trails and no bottoming. I'm betting you need a refresh on both rear shocks. Center shock is notorious for getting water in it and then it's sacked. I have 4400 miles on mile sled and have...

    Fox upgrade kit.

Just so everyone is clear, Hygear will fit up to '15 front ends with the old style upper arms. If you have upgraded to the 16 mountain upper arms and spindles in with the 38" or 40", or if you have a 16 or up with the new style swept back spindles the Hygear kit will not clear the upper arms...

    RTX Weight Transfer Rod

I have limiters on LTX all the way out, and the shaft out, and no problems. I don't believe it's possible for the slid action to come off because in order for that to happen skid would have to move rearward, and there are forward stops ahead of the lower part of the rearrange that prevent the...

Viper Experts, Talk to me please.
