Always a sad time of year for me but great memories of year past. They say you have to make goals so my goal was to ride from WI to Muni for the TY ride. Previous Sunday I did most of the WI part of trip from Summit Lake,WI Northwest and it was awesome so even though longer route I planned to do same.It was a great choice and most trails were perfect till about 10 or so sat. Then it went from -1deg to way up there. Felt like 50 deg and Sun was like Laser. Trails burned off before my eyes and with more expected there was no way I would make it back on Monday or Tues so I decided to turn around and get back to trailer and go up to Muni. Long drive but worth it!
So I got up to Boarders after almost running out of gas in truck in mid of nowhere. Everyone was still up and having a great time at 1/2 Pint. Made plans with the off trail group for Sunday. Havent hung with them for awhile since dont have a setup for that but really enjoyed it. Highly recommend everyone spend a day with them at least once to see what it about. You will not regret it and such a great group of guys and gals with alot of talent and power! Thanks for letting me come along for day you all!
I left the group around 1 and was advised that Ice was good to Grand Island so I went to check it out. Have never been on the Island itself. Wow!

Grand Island I took the trail to Munising Bay which is at T to Christmas. Got me right down there and it was obvious where to go on the Ice. No issues whatever. I will be doing it again because its big and alot to explore on the Island. Primitive trails though so be prepared to go around trees and downfalls. BEAUTIFUL!
After coming back to Mainland from Island I got gas and it was still light out but I was hungry. So decided to go to Foggys for steak sandwich. After that was still light so decided to keep going on to 7 and then take 8 back to Muni. Wow was awesome and met two groomers on way back. They did a Awesome job grooming Muni area this year. Best I have ever seen. Made it back to hotel and loaded up. Went in and said good bye and thanks to Angela and Pip. Been a great year! Will miss all this all summer. Might have to sneak another in yet though since Viper didnt hit 13000 yet. 12,800 I believe. Just a little short. Thank You TY and Tom and all the great friends here keeping me running and helping out. Please take the step and come join us all on one of these rides. Keyboard is not even a fraction of the friends you will make and FUN you will have. What a great thing going here!

Well said cannondale27! It’s like leaving Grandma’s house hungry...... If you leave a TY ride and didn’t have a good time it’s your own fault! The people you meet and friends you make are awesome!
A big THANK YOU to you and the rest of all the moderators for keeping Tom propped up when the pressure is on!!! Thanks MrSled for everything you do for the site and TY rides!

Steve it was a pleasure riding with you Sunday. It was a fun day for all and I think everyone found different terrain to have fun on. WOW was that snow deep in places and caught a few off guard including myself from time to time. I was surprised when I turned around on one of the hills and seen your short track cat 1/2 way up the hill behind me!! Damn he's is getting it done Cannondale style! Awesome pictures !
You sure have talent yamahaguys! I was very impressed. Loved the sound of that Turbo working hard. I need to apologize to Krissy for touching her sled. She kept telling me she wanted to get unstuck herself but I just thought it was a pride thing. Forgot all about the stickers! Hey the knowledge i got helped a guy on a Polaris out on way back from Foggys on 8. He was playing on side of trail and buried it trying to get back up. He was digging it out in back trying to back out! Packed the snow in front and had his wife run it while we pulled on skis up the side and had him out in about 5 minutes. Perfect! Got a hug from his wifey even!Steve it was a pleasure riding with you Sunday. It was a fun day for all and I think everyone found different terrain to have fun on. Haha, no worries Steve! I'm not even close in the Star War race anymore so I can handle a few extra stars without taking a hit. Summit Lake is closest for you but you would have to stay right in that area. Even Harrison is shot. Want to drive further go to Minocqua 12,7,Willow. All are or were great sat. 51 is shot bad. 100mi day ride is doable yet even in WI.It was a pleasure riding with and seeing everyone this weekend Hey Steve, I am doing a day trip this Sat, what would be the best area to go drop in?

Great write up and great pictures Steve. Will have to get to Grand Island once, but hard to get out of the trees lol. Glad you hung with us on Sunday. Snow was deep and we all had a ball. Even the up and coming boondockers had a good time. I came with just over 100 gold stars and awarded all but about 10 in three days. Sunday was a star free day, but I know I would have handed out at least 40 more. Stuck is part of the game tree riding in the hills. If you aren't stuck, you've either learned all there is, or aren't trying hard enough. Great group of good friends, and those that tagged along for the first time really seemed to enjoy themselves. Glad you joined us.

I missed the sticker run!!! Sorry I missed this but someone had to stay home with the dogs... She was in Mexico during this ride so I had to stay home... or at least the cabin See you all next year with wider skis, a longer limiter strap, and maybe a little deeper lug track :0
I liked seeing you counting the riders and hanging back to be sure everyone is there. Well done! That island was pretty much like off trail. Pretty primitive trail.Great write up and great pictures Steve. Will have to get to Grand Island once, but hard to get out of the trees lol. Glad you hung with us on Sunday. Awesome video Tom. Thanks for putting it together and sharing. I'm sad that was the last ride. Our season went by so fast this year. We're all looking forward to next seasons TY rides already.
