If it was a dealer display, it was built in 14 in the 15 color scheme. They were built at the end of the 14 model year run and shipped to dealers in spring for summer display. They were technically a 15 model, but they didn't have any of the updates that came on the 15 model year. Those updates...
Mine LTX LE was a early build dealer display sled. All,updates were done prior to my buying it so no issues at all. Almost nothing changed until mid year 16 so I wouldn't be nervous of the early build. depending on model, you may want to revalve rear shocks.. Valving was way off in 15.
Im running limiters as long as I can, torsion springs on 1 (soft) and I took out the transfer rod complete so I am uncoupled. Also, I run 2" BC so I get great transfer as that track hooks on just about everything. If you put a bit more preload in center shock spring it will help transfer as...
I didn't rivet, but I did use spray adhesive as a lubricant to slid grip over element. Gave it a reasonable cost, and it lets the grip slip on pretty easy, and then dries keeping the grips from twisting. Hairspray works well also.
In the thorottle block. They don't come unplugged, but they do fail. I lost one on my LTX and both on XTX. Pretty easy fix, but it requires new grips, and new warmers. Was covered under warranty. There is a test procedure in the service manual to confirm its dead.
Have had this issue on my Viper several times this year. I think it can also be moisture freezing in the thorottle block connection at the button, or at the actuator itself. I even took the reverse relay in overnight at the Giveaway ride and when installed in morning, still no reverse until sled...
Why has this thread turned into an argument between the DBII lovers and the Procross lovers on which design is better. Both have there place. Apex riders that want to sit back and cruise won't be happy on a Procross, and those of us that prefer the rider forward Procross won't go back to a sit...
How did oil get to intake filter? If plumbed like MPI does, it returns from breather to mag side near crank and not to intake at all??? Ask on a Random Thoughts conversation so we're not poaching this thread.
Limiter straps have been superseded with new style with less holes thanstock ones had. Stock ones stretched very quickly, and tore bolt holes due to close spacing of the holes. When installing limiter, set it in the first set of holes that prevents the shock from fully extending. I can tell you...
Last two trips to Munising and reverse never worked in the morning. Let sled warm up all the way (190ish) and it starts working and works all day. At home after three hours in the trailer, cold again and wont go into reverse. let it warm up and still no go. Tap on the switch block a few times...
OMG, you made the heavy side even heavier....rivets, what were you thinking....
On the brighter side, Bud Light showing inside the engine compartment is worth 3HP. Way to go:Rockon:
I'm running Stage 4. With the air box mod, Straightline header, and can, this added 400 rpm WOT so I know it's making power. Also improved low end and mid range. Raising rev limiter is also a benefit of the EVO flash. I couldn't be happier and will be upgrading the XTX in the near future.
They share bolt pattern of CA and Curve if I recall. You can get slimjims for them, but they aren't designed specifically for them. There's a thread on here or you can check the Woodys site and see the stud placement on them
I run 7" dogs on my LTX and on my XTX. Good balance off trail and on. Guys I ride with like the 8" dogs. All in all, I like the Slydogs and will purchase again when I'm ready for new.
You won't be able to tell without pulling the boot off the front shock. Dual rate coils are installed up inside boot. and the look the same otherwise. My understanding is that 16 and up got the dual rate spring.
