I would like to see a lighter front end and a little different cowling design, more conventional I guess. I don't know why, cause I never have to get in there! :yam: :4STroke:
Run it like you plan on riding it. I'm on my second four stroke and no oil consumption issues. We see some Honda outboards that consume oil with low hours and its always because they were babied too much, it is possible.
What is this ring update that a lot of people are having done?? I have searched all of Yamahas recalls and service bulletins and can't find it. My local sled dealer has never heard of it. Whats the deal?
Find someone that owns a Vacu-Mate synchronizer. It's digital and they are pretty slick for setting your carb synch. I use them on outboards and my old Warrior. You'll be surprized how much smoother you can make your engine run with a good synch.
:4STroke: Whopper, synchronize your carbs. One of the guys at my shop was having similar problems and a set of plugs and a good synch solved the poping and hesitating.
I know darn good and well I haven't gotten any better but my stuck to ride ratio is headed in the right direction! I only got stuck 3 times last year and that used to be 3 times a ride! Love my Apex.
:moon: What is this? NOBODY wants to go? Some of you B.C. guys should start heading this way asap. You could be here by Friday or Saturday and ready to go for Sunday! :ORC
:jump: First ride of the year to Summit Lake Alaska this weekend! Anybody on here in range for Sunday? Me and a couple of guys from Fairbanks are headed down for a Sunday ride. Gonna see what we can tear up! ;)!
:o| I talked to someone at Excell last week about the noise factor and told them I didn't really care because I ride in the middle of nowhere Alaska and could really give a crap if I tick off some cross country tree hugger. I want that mountain lite pipe!
I got the extra tall but its a little too tall for normal riding. I use mine when its crappy and cold on moose hunts here in Alaska. If you want something for normal everyday stuff, get the mid-height. Besides, I catch enough crap for having the tall one for both of us!
