Well I just brought home my new Apex Mountain SE and retired my MM700. I am going to take it out on Sunday for the first time and am looking for you 4stroke expert's opinion on how break her in. What is the best way? Hard or like the manual states? There was a thread on here a while back that explained breaking in a 4stroke motor by running it hard at first. I can't seem to find it now? Also how do you all run the rear suspension on the rear drop brakets? Upper hole or lower hole? Which is better? I am anxious to run it and hear all your opinions. Thanks!

Regarding engine break in, I believe this thread will answer your question.
Welcome to the site and have fun on your new Apex.

Use Motoman's way. Makes perfect sense, proven to work (did it with my Attak), and is a whole lot more fun.

Run it like you plan on riding it. I'm on my second four stroke and no oil consumption issues. We see some Honda outboards that consume oil with low hours and its always because they were babied too much, it is possible.

I ran my 2004 Rx-1M pretty hard and I have no issues what so ever. I have even hit 106 Mph on my speedo. I know it's not very accurate but my RX-1 has no weight reductions but increases. (Added reverse)
