I have only seen one track fail myself, but it took the front cooler and tunnel out it hit so hard.
If you think about it the tension in the track is what keeps it from ballooning even more. When the track fails, that tension goes to zero and the centripetal force tries to push the track...
Just wanted to bring this one back to the top. Absolutely love the pull the header tunes make. However, I ran the TD G1 header this year and had it fail twice (at the bellows both times) in 3200 miles. Has anyone had better luck with either the TD G2 header or the hurricane improved clearance...
Maybe? We did ~350 miles on Saturday. I was riding with an 1100 Turbo with obnoxious exhaust and a viper both all blacked out. We did run through Marquette on Friday night on our way up but headed east to Sault Ste. Marie and back on Saturday.
I will say this, I did not have the header wrapped directly, only had the blanket on it. Still saw this failure. Probably going to be a couple weeks before I can get up north with a trailer and bring the sled back to the shop to even start tearing into it to find out how bad exactly this...
That is great info, I had gone to the lava wrap because the stock heatshield broke on me. It seemed like the additional shielding would help but if it is just going to hurt the thing more I will be going back to a stock shield.
This happened on the railbed running back south after a weekend up in the Munising area (worst trails I have ever ridden on in my life this weekend). We were cruising at 90-95 from Crystal Falls to Watersmeet and when we stopped just outside Watersmeet to wait for the viper in our group, I...
I went to the RipII 1.5 this year, with 192 1.625" studs and 280hp it pulls like you would not believe. The extra 1/4" from the stock track really is noticeable during braking. Everyone who rides my sled comments how well it brakes compared to anything they have ridden including a buddies...
I had the electrical connector to the solenoid loose as well. I would double check the hose routing, some dealers have been royally messing it up and connecting things backwards.
