Ice Storm 150 or 1.6” Ice Cobra

I spend a lot of time at higher speeds, 80mph plus. I was pleasantly surprised that the 1.5 didnt really give up any traction compared to the 1.75 and a bit less vibration at speed. I was always a bit nervous holding the 1.75 at over 100mph for extended periods.

Ice Storm 150 or 1.6” Ice Cobra

I tried the Hurricane and it lasted roughly 2000 miles with Igrips. I dont know if it was the track durability or the fact that I used igrips, but lost tons of lugs and track was finished after 2000 miles. Contrary to my original 1.75 backcountry which had 10000 miles and no lugs missing. I...

    Clutching starting point?

The tighter wrap increases torsion (backwards tension) on the spring and clutch, gripping the belt tighter between the sheaves. 6-1 was the recommended wrap for the 1st Gen Dalton Black/Orange spring, the 2nd Gen Dalton Spring was 6-2 to get the same pressure. 6-3 would make it even tighter...

'22 LTX GT EPS has same dual rate springs as lowered Thundercat/SRX?

The 20 and 21 have the part numbers I listed, but the 22 has the same spring as all regular winders! Wierd! Check the 20 and 21s.....different part numbers. So it means that the 22 and newer SRX were higher in the rear.

'22 LTX GT EPS has same dual rate springs as lowered Thundercat/SRX?

You're right about the front springs, but the rear springs are different for SRX. SRX rear springs are below. The parts you listed above are in all sidewinder and vipers from 2016 onwards....I just did a bunch of research on this lol SRX rear springs, 2020 and newer 8JX-G7474-20-00 and...

Team Primary on Winder secondary mocked up

I am asking about the older TEAM primary, not the new ADAPT. I saw your posts on machining the radius which is why I'm contemplating using my brand new TEAM primary that I have with the yamaha secondary. Just wondering if anyone has run this besides Mike who went to an RX-1 clutch.

Team Primary on Winder secondary mocked up

Anybody else running the Team primary with Yamaha secondary? The cracking of primaries seem to be related to the sharp lip which can be machined to a round radius on the movable sheave. Am interested to potentially try this out since I have a brand new one sitting on the shelf and dont like the...

    Lets talk suspension set up

Are you guys factoring in cornering ability/ ski pressure or just trying to balance the weight? With a 22 LTX GT Or any power steering model for that matter, to me the beauty of that setup will be to run super aggressive carbides and have tons of ski pressure to absolutely rail corners without...

    Yet Another Ski Post

Pilot 6.9 hands down. The number is actually the width IRC, so 6.9 inches. They float well and rail corners. No brainer to go with them, although they are getting hard to find as they have been replaced by the newer version which I have no experience on (DS I believe). So yes, they float very...

    Egged rear drop link

Buy a skid rail insert and drill out your hole slightly larger. Arctic cat part 3604-266 which is $3.25. This insert is where the front suspension arm mounts to the rail so it's good quality bushing that I have yet to see wear out. It's basically a bushing with a large shoulder on one side. No...

Track, Storm or Rip 2 1.5?

For tracks, hands down the 1.5 Rip2 is the way to go. I've had the 1,25 rip2, back country 1.75 and Hurricane 1.75. The stock rip 2, even studded up, still doesnt have as much traction as a 1.5 or bigger. The back country 1.75 is an animal, but does scrub some top end and is ONLY offered in 2...

    Clutch weights

This is great news! I will be running MS16 and assumed I would need some new weights even with the XS825. Did you do anything to the secondary?

    Looking at used winders

I have a BOP mps kit that I am selling if interested. It's basically brand new, used it for 300kms. Selling my sled and returning everything to stock. I'm in Ottawa, ON

    A - Arm Ball Joint

Lower a-arm ball joints are not replaceable. I changed mine out at 12000kms. Tons of play compared to new. Royal distributing in Canada also sells aftermarket ones for cheaper than OEM.

    Tune differences

Isn't the TD MS16 SM tune like 260hp with no other mods needed? I have that tune and think it rips! How does the Hurricane 240ss compare to that? Or is the 270 comparable? 270 seems to need more supporting mods (different MAP sensor, CAI, BOV).

    2023 Spring Order Sidewinders

I think there was still a 10% increase in price. Great colors on both the SRX AND LE! Are they really sold out already??

2023 Sidewinder LE with power steering....

There is the GSE kit but it introduces a lot of steering play and is always active. The factory one fades away at speed. To me the factory one is the only option that works well.

2023 Sidewinder LE with power steering....

It will be an expensive project. You need the steering box, new wiring harness, steering shaft and brackets. PLUS THE ECU which adds to the cost since the steering is speed sensitive. I figure about $3-4k

2023 Sidewinder LE with power steering....

Yeah I think you're right. In that case it will be easy to make my 22GT into a 2023. I'm not a super big fan of the decals in 22 but this 23 looks good!

'22 LTX GT EPS has same dual rate springs as lowered Thundercat/SRX?

Has anybody put a GT beside an SRX to see if ride height in front is actually the same? I am assuming it is judging by the springs but have yet to see one in person!
