sledheadgeorge, Thanks for the advice. Sometimes simple cures are the best. I've narrowed down conditions that present a problem and will certainly do as you advised.
Reading this post and the subsequent replies reminded me that I had that same problem just before Christmas. Three of us had 04 warriors and huge chunks of ice built up under the tunnel. Luckily we had access to a heated garage and were able to thaw them out and remove the large chunks. It...
You are absolutely right on all your statements. I have ridden a lot this season with a buddy with an RSRage. All in all I have to say I like his sled better than my Warrior. I do, however, enjoy smoking him on the lake. We also found the gas mileage issue to be consistent with your...
Wow, I think the Ski-Donkey's and the Arctic Crappers both smell bad. A Donkey was in front of me this past weekend and I would have prefered to have been behind a real Donkey dropping a Chalupa.
Just last weekend I hit 123 mph on Long Lake. My sled is stock with the exception of Simmons Skis. Gotta believe a small guy could get in the high 120's as Rock is not small.
Yes, and also Team Blue members from this site will be on hand. Come meet the President, me (Rock), RSRager and others. Would be happy to meet any of you and talk sleds. ;)!
I rode on some sleds with stock skis this weekend. It certainly solidified my belief in the Simmons skis. Excellent choice for anyone and well worth the price.
Another option on the snowflap issue is to cleanly cut your existing flap right where it starts to jut out at the bottom. I had to do that to an SRX I had with reverse. It worked great and no one even knew it had been cut.
twomorestrokes, I would prefer to not to put a rear heat exchanger on either. A couple of criteria would enter into my decision. First of all I would think about the area(s) I ride in. If it's a generally high snow area that's really cold I might opt to not install it. However, If I rode in...
twomorestrokes, Two things will pretty much eliminate the issue. One, the venture flap is shorter and your dealer can get that. Second, install a rear heat exchanger and you're all set.
Pimpedrsrage, Team Blue is what a group of us here in Maine call ourselves. As I recall, someone outside of a pitstop saw a bunch of us and said "hey, it's team blue" and it stuck. Our ranks are growing as Yamaha has really gained marketshare in our area. If you ever get to Maine, Team Blue...
I just found out a guy with a two-stroke arctic crapper will be riding with Team Blue this weekend. Gotta keep him in the way back for two reasons: 1) His sled smells of antique two-strokin' and 2) We don't want his ugly green piece of $@#& ruining our image.
Well, I happen to be that fellow Team Blue member and my trailer is a 10' sno-pro extreme enclosed. The Warrior and the Rage fit in nicely, although, with not a lot to spare. Putting a new Venture in there wouldn't happen. If I were going to purchase a new trailer now I'd opt for the 12'...
I've gotta believe that the suspension will be upgraded for '06. Probably they'll go to the mono-shock suspension because of the RX-1. I'd also like to see EFI on the 4-strokes.
The problem with putting only 96 studs (or even 120) is that the track could be damaged under certain conditions. Be careful not to put studs that have too much penetration. On the Camoplast Rip Saw track it's not recommended to have a full 1/4 inch as is usually the rule. I think it's 1.375...
I've put Simmons skis on my Warrior and my buddy has put his on his Rage. They track very well and don't seem to reduce top-end like ski-donkey's precision ski's do. I would recommend them to anyone.
