I'll probably get a new sled first. I know the track would help, just too lazy to change it.

My wife and 2 girls are around 100 #. I just studded their sleds (Vmax700,600,500). No problems other than the thumb complaints.

Brad, I think the 06' Warrior/Rage will have a 136" Pro Active suspension. I'm hoping they will have 06' demo sleds to ride like they did last year for the 05's.

Not sure if this is the same thing but I had issue with the butt end wanting to come around. Tried some suspension stuff with little success then read about the ski shim (tech pages) and the effects such as darting and bull dozing. It took me 2 attempts with shim size but now only rarely do I feel the butt wanting to come around. It's so easy you might want to give it a shot.

No one has asked this question yet but are your tracks studded?? I have had my 03 shorty full shot for a mile plus with zero fishtailing. In fact I've never had it happen to me unless I was on someone else's piece of but hey I think skis and studs has ALOT to do with it.
I agree with Yamablue. I think 96 studs down the middle would solve your problem.

I've had 2001 venture, 02 Viper, 03 rX-1, 04 Warrior, and currently 05 Rage & RX-1. I longed tracked (136") the Viper & found improved ride especially over the stutters. I agree with Blue, as the fishtail problems with the 03 RX-1 disappeared with studding. I studded (144) my current RX-1 & I have to tell you that with the new monoshock rear - this is much better handling than either the Rage or the previous Warrior!
The 136" really shines off trail, as it doesn't trench as easily! Which one for you really depends on your riding type!
I don't know what yama is going to do next year - but you only live once and waiting for "next year" may keep you from some darn good experiences.

On nice, normal groomed trail, anyone ever have any problems with the RX-1 or Vector fishtailing?
Also, what about the suspension and over all ride/handling on the 04 vs. 05 Warrior. I noticed according to the Yamaha specs that the suspensions are different along with a few other things.

I've gotta believe that the suspension will be upgraded for '06. Probably they'll go to the mono-shock suspension because of the RX-1. I'd also like to see EFI on the 4-strokes.

I've never had that problem with ANY sled. Do you use studs or not?

Yes the ripsaw has excellent side bite and straightline the second best track would have to be a predator track. Both tracks feel like your studded on all but bare ice.

No, we dont use studs. i would, but my dad's the one making the payments on the sleds so unfortunatly i have to do as he wishes and he doesnt want to stud them, why, i have no clue as it only seems logical.
Just for reference, my concern about fishtailing comes from my experience on our 02 V-max- no studs, completly stock, no suspension adjustments what so ever. The thing fishtailed uncomfortably about 50-60 mph.

Studs would solve that instantly.
