Do you have a link to this steering kit... I can't find it on Yamaha Canada's site? Also, were you able to buy it in NL or did you have to order it? Thanks
I now have serious play (about 1") in my steering! Started to pick her apart tonight and it appears that most of the slop is in these bushings that I installed a few years back. Was honestly expecting more use out of them based on all the hype and considering my sled has been used lightly the...
An exhaust extension will solve the icing issue once and for all.. it's a lot of work but worthwhile. The icing was a real pain to say the least! There are threads on here explaining the extensions.
I haven't used mine much in the past 4 seasons due to having the TF for trail riding but it has reached 17,000 Km with no engine issues and still runs well. Changed the plugs after 16,000.
The manual also gives the measurements for the belt as new and the wear limit or tolerance. I love mine for hauling as well... great for my annual firewood getting.
Yeah, the black looks cool.. I've been thinking about that for awhile but it wouldn't look so good with my grey seat. Did you paint yours? I see you have the exhaust extended as well... did that work out good?
Yep, I did mine. Things are sloppy again though with my steering/frontend but I haven't checked to see where the issue is... there's lots of joints, etc that can cause sloppiness.
I have 7" PH's (w/6" Studboy carbides) on my VL and 8" PH's (with 9" TP's) on the TF with no problems. I have also used the 8" skis on the VL and found them good. A big improvement over the original 5" stock skis that would really sink in the soft trails and cause a lot of hard steering. I...
This started to happen today without even having the sled in reverse. Started it up and heard a faint beeping noise and it seems like the reverse beeper is not functioning properly. It got even louder later during my ride but would get quieter after putting it in rev and then back in fwd but...
That's quite the rack there! Another little improvement is to add the aluminum adjusting blocks with the extra setting to give the rear suspension a bit more rigidity and less prone to bottoming. I used the X-clickers but others are available.
Just wondering how you made out with your ski choice?
Another point on the 7 or 8" Powder hounds, even though they are not a trail ski as such, you would find a big improvement in using those on the trail compared with the Yammie skis. Less darting, less steering effort +++ good skis all around!
