So i changed my upper guide wheels in october because they were flat and within the first 2 days of riding they froze again. Ive rode about 2000 miles on frozen guide wheels in the past 2 season and since im a dumb college kid so im thinking about shaving the tops of the wheels round to last me...
This season i should break the 10,000 mark on my phazer and i was wondering what you guys have on yours. I know the 3 and 4 cylinders go forever but havn't seen alot on these. You don't see alot for sale with 10,000 plus. Don't know if i should be worried or what.
It doesn't leak when it sits, only during and after you run it. I did track the hoses that i could see with out ripping apart the sled and didn't find anything. And i checked the coolant level and it is normal.
I picked up an attak last winter with 5800 miles on it. Rode it for about 1000 and when i brought it home i noticed it would drip antifreeze. When i took the panels off i could smell it too. Someone told me it could be a head gasket leak. How much would that cost and whats your guys opinions on...
I can help you out with the grips. You should just stick with the OEM grips. Some aftermarket grips dont work on yamahas. OEM 2stroke grips worked great for me.

#1 Do you have to do a tunnel extension
#2 Do you need to regear it
#3 How much top end is lost?

I also have a 128x 1.35 no tunnel extension and it hooks up great on the trail. off trail is still a work in progress. It dogs through the deep stuff a bit but for the most part its been great
I can help out with number 2 a little and 4.
#2 my 08 doesnt recoil all the way but is almost unnoticeable on the trail. It wouldn't even come close to recoil all the way when it was sitting on our dolly because of the way it was resting on it. May need to be rebuilt though.
