MBRP Exhaust question

Wondering about getting an MBRP exhaust for my 08 RTX. When I looked at the exhaust system it looks like you have to cut and weld on the new one. I was talking to my uncle last night and he told me he has heard the aftermarket exhaust's are slip on's and all that needs to be done is cut off the existing pipe and the new one slides over the old one no welding needed. Are all the aftermarket mufflers like this or do you have to weld on the new one?

I believe most are a "slip on" can. Depending on OD the MBRP can should slip over and be clamped.

my mbrp had to be wielded cause I purchased it used....It took 10 min to cut off the stock and weld on the mbrp sounds great and made the phazer snappy as hell.

The only one that is not a "cut factory piping" is the full Hindle system...that is or is not available, and information and dyno sheet is or is not available...LOL

Go with mbrp. You'll love the sound and the power. I've trailed with the mbrp for a year now and no sound tickets. Although it's so loud my buddy's can't even hear they're own machines when we ride.

When I bought my Phazer it had an MBRP on it, cool for the first couple of weekends then it just became to obnoxiously loud.
When you can hear that "barking" out the back louder than the iPod in your ears, it wasn't for me.
After going back to stock it actually had a better feel power wise, better back pressure with no popping on decel.

My pipe was just cut shorter so a $4 NAPA coupler / 2 clamps did the fix, stock went right on.

I put 2 baffolds in my pipe to quiet it down..its good torque sound now, porkchop did your pipe have any small backfires when using the engine breaking on the phazer?

Yeah, that was the popping on decel-
Was really just more noticeable over stock.

Forsure...its the loudest at full throttle, it really roars lol...my buddy can hear it from his house3 km down the road from my field

I have never had any decel pop or backfires, but am using the PCIII fuel controller which I assume corrects this.
