Barn of Parts Driveshaft Saver....Bearing Lock

I used bearing mount Locktite. You are going to need to get it apart sometime to change out the bearing so you still need to make it serviceable.

Barn of Parts Driveshaft Saver....Bearing Lock

It's just a flat plate with holes drilled to match the three bearing/brake caliper bolt holes. Tighten them and it pushes on axle. I also plan to heat axle to release Locktite.

Sorry I mean bearing not gearing.

Barn of Parts Driveshaft Saver....Bearing Lock

I did use bearing mount Locktite so I built a puller to get it apart when it comes time to change gearing.

Barn of Parts Driveshaft Saver....Bearing Lock

Originally I thought my problem was .0005-.0006 clearance between axle and bearing. Bought a axle from Black Diamond thinking it might be an after market build. When I got it it was a Cat axle also and I ate that one up. Also added TD tune so I think added horsepower puts more strain on drive...

Barn of Parts Driveshaft Saver....Bearing Lock

After 4 drive axles I believe I have cured mine. I turned axle down where it rides in bearing, welded axle up with hard rod, turned it down to spec, now have hard against hard instead of soft axle against hard bearing. 2500 miles so far and looking good.

TY Giveaway Ride Munising 2019 Pictures & Video

I turned down the drive shaft where it rides in the bearing, welded it back up with some hard rod, then turned that down to .0001 undersize of bearing. Install with a bit of bearing mount lock tight. Now I have a hard surface against a hard bearing instead of a sorter shaft against a hard...

Hey Tom, Kevin and I met and talked to you last Friday in the 1/2 Pint. Just wanted to let you know how we appreciate the time and effort you put in to make Totallyamaha work. A lot of good info is shared and I'm sure between the website and the rides you organize you keep pretty busy. I plan...

    2020 Release

One hundred and sixty some pages of speculation to find out they didn't do anything. On the bright side they didn't close up shop. Someone needs to start a new page on what's coming in 2021.

Radiator and Fan Kit...updates and reduced price coming fall of 21

I installed BOP radiator kit, very nice install even if it is a little tight. Not much room to get it in there. Did make a difference in idle time, but will still gets warm in low snow conditions. Any time you can add more coolant it is a plus. I was nervous about fuse panel right out in the...

3500 miles driveshaft and bearing smoked

10,700 miles and I am replacing axle shaft for the 3rd time. Brand new shaft had 5-6 thousands clearance. This time putting in an aftermarket shaft from Black Diamond which has only 1 thousands clearance. Will see how it holds up.

    Stud backers

Fast Trac backers work really well, no breaking or splitting. Have been running them for years and will hold up for the life of a track.

    Engine failures

10,700 miles on 17 sidewinder with last 5,000 miles with TD tune. Motor is awesome, some chassis issues. Nothing I haven't had to deal with in the past to make big mileage.

    1550 miles with TD enhancement

I have a 2017 Sidewinder SE 137, with 10,700 miles to date with the last 5,000 miles with the TD 250 hp tune with the quite muffler also from TD. Runs flawless, only thing that comes close is another turbo Yamaha with a bigger tune. Most fun sled to date. Had some issues with durability of Cat...

How about a positive " I love my Sidewinder thread".

Very good sled, enjoyed it for 2 seasons, last 6,200 miles on TD tune. I did have to address some chassis issues to run the miles I do but I've had to do this on all my sleds, just part of the game. Good looking, fast and very dependable engine. I would never even think of changing brands.

Driveshaft dry side bearing, who has P/N and who has replacement for the stock bearing

The best way is to remove the 3 bolts from the back side which hold the brake and bearing carrier assembly to tunnel. With that out on the bench remove snap ring which holds bearing in housing to remove and replace bearing. If axle shaft spun inside bearing you may need to replace axle shaft. I...
