Engine failures

I've heard of a couple stock ones dropping valve keepers.

I'm up to 5000 miles but know of guys with over 10k and boosted since basically day one. No doubt these motors will go for many miles.

How many newer car/trucks on the road have engine failures?

Its the new-ish (EPA) 2s engines that fail, where the older dirty 2s would last.

No disrespect meant by my post:

Many newer cars have engine failures, it’s very common due to so many factors.

Kia, bmw, Mercedes, Audi are all notorious for engine failures.

Here’s a link from USA today about how serious car engine failures are today

https://www.usatoday.com/story/mone...-fires-hyundai-kia-engine-failures/739097002/

With that said Yamaha engines are the best of the best, that’s why automotive industry (toyota) have used yamahamotors in their cars :)

No mods = no blow outs
No studs= Longer belt life

But really who wants stock anymore—>

I had a 2002 Grand prix that blew the engine 5 thousand miles out of warranty. GM gave me a new engine no questions asked. I also had a 2.0 turbo in my 2013 Cadillac blow the engine at 19 thousand miles and GM gave me a new car. It does happen but it's still pretty rare. Now 2 stroke snowmobiles engines blow like firecrackers on the 4th of July.

2 motors in the last 15 years? We’re gonna have to start calling you Downshift. ;)

I have a buddy, that his 2017 Chevy Silverado dropped a valve with less then 10000 miles. Chevy wouldn't give him a new motor instead they rebuilt it and he said it was never the same after that so he sold it and switched brands.

I met a 65 year old gentleman retired with his wife SW and vector end of February! It was his second ride with his new machine. In fact his second machinne... the engine of his first machine jumped after more less 300km. He has waited about four weeks for Yamaha's "ok" to give it a completely new machine and not just a replacement for the engine.
it's the only one I've seen and i think it is an isolated case...

5000 miles , 3000 on Hurricane tunes testing at High elevation.
Sweet except for the blown belts .
How is the Hurricane tune at high elevation. I have ran the Evo and now have the MCX stage 3, but just picked up a new king cat and wanting to try something new.

10,700 miles on 17 sidewinder with last 5,000 miles with TD tune. Motor is awesome, some chassis issues. Nothing I haven't had to deal with in the past to make big mileage.

Automobile failure Percentage is ultra low. Sure things go wrong, but I was talking about failure as internal engine damage. Millions if cars on the road vs very low amount of sleds in comparison.

The main reason I love this sled so much is the 998 engine. I bet the new Doo 900t will be alot better handler with its new G4 chassie and less weight, but the little rotax is no 998YAM sweetheart.
