I am putting a new track on an 06 Apex GT for a freind. It looks like a stud started to pull on the outside and ripped out about 6-8" of track.
The pictures are of the contact it made with the front heat exchanger on the way out. I am not sure of the thickness of material used for the front...
I don't have the information handy, but on another site I frequent they were dicussing this in the Ontario forum and I believe they said the trail closing issue was deferred for an additional 7-8 weeks.
Setting the rear susp "as soft as it will go" is diiferent from adjusting for max transfer as sugested above. If you adjust your transfer rod to the max setting this alone should allow the skiis to come up. This adjustment combined with letting your limiter strap out a bit will give you max lift...
I read on here that the front plastic rail caps are installed with a rivet from the factory and that they get loose over time. It was said that the loose rail caps can cause the track clips to get ripped off. I will admit that at first I thought this was a little far fetched.
My buddy rides...
Not trying to argue here but think about this.
The bar is going to twist the same amount because both ends have a link attached that are the same size. The differance in yours is that you will now have a delay before the bar can transmit the force to the inside link. So it will take more...
I think it will cause more inside ski lift. You have reduced the length of the arm, meanning that it will now take more input force to keep the other ski down. If the arm was longer for example then the mechanical advantage is much greater and not requireing as much force to induce a downward...
Is there any chance that when the weights were re installed that the pin and nut were over tightened or any of the small washer shims were left out? This could be causeing the weight to bind and not able to be thrown out.
It's all back together and dry. Here are two pictures showing what it looked like once disassembled. The O ring looked in good shape but I replaced it anyway. The pipe is an alluminum pipe and just had the usual goop on it. There was a small ring of hardened debris on the pipe that reqiured some...
Thanks to all that replied. I will let you know what I find.
Lake rcr, I assume that after draining the coolant I will be able to just remove the allen bolt and lift the tube out without worry of contaminating the oils syst.
I did have the collant resevior and overflo container diss mounted but I dried the area out after installation and have ran it about 4 times after everything was reinstalled and the coolant has re appeared. I have let the Engine reach operating temp each time in hopes that it would drie out the...
2006 Apex GT. It ran great all last season with no issues relating to coolant levels. I just finished doing some preseason mtce including exhaust doughnuts. I noticed while workin on the doughnuts that I had some coolant poolling in the area where the solid tubing goes into the top of the valve...
One problem you may have with a braided steel hose is the ice build up. I used to ride an Arctic Cat ZR 800 cross country with a remote adjust shock in the rear suspension. The remote adjuster had a braided line that ran from the handle bars down to the front shock in the rear suspension and if...
I did try this last year. It worked well at first, however as the miles went on the soft rubber compressed down and started to squeze out from under the spindle. In the end the darting issues returned. I ended up switching to the doo pilot's and notice a good improvement. You can buy the...
Maybe you could add a choice to your poll to include wheels in all stock locations but replaced with the larger polaris or ski doo wheels. I have larger ski doo wheels on mine with 300 mi and no failures. This is also true for the other two Apex's I ride with.
Is that an aspestos type material that has burnt off? It looks like the same type of material ski doo used under the clam shells on the two stroke exhaust. I replaced it on my past ski doo's and it was fairly inexpensive. I haven't looked at mine yet so I am only guessing on the material...
