Re: shock
I had the oposite experience with mine. I found I couldn't line up the rear holes until I pulled the back bolt out of the transfer rod. Then it was simple to line up.
As far as the wire on the GT I disconnected it behind the chain case and pulled it through. That way I didn't...
Yea, you will be in for a bit of work. You need to remove everything as you do when changeing an oil filter. In addition you will have to remove the chin cowl from beneath the bumper. Once you have access it's not bad, just remove bolts and drive out the old bushings. Be carefull installing the...
Ulmer racing is selling a top notch kit to rectify this. It includes all front end bushings including bulkhead bushings made from an oilite material and on the two 06 apex gt's Ihave installed them on they have eliminated all play apart from th axial 1/16" play mentioned above. Take a look in...
[/quote) I'm checking with SHOCKTEC in Toronto today to see what they have to offer me.
I was checking their website www.shocktec.ca, pretty impressive!
RX1 please let us now what they are able to provide. I tried the link but it didn't work. Sounds like they would be alot closer for me...
I haven't had a chance to try My Apex yet as I just bought it, but I have been doing some work on it installing the Ulmer front end bushings. While working in the bulkhead area I notice that where the two bulkhead halves are bolted together that it is not a perfect mating surface, so there is...
I bought a used 06 Apex GT with the 5.5 spring added. The shock valving is still the original set up. I read that Yamaha has revalved the 08's and all test rides are stating a great improvement. I have read alot about sending the shock to Pioneer or Hygear for a revalve however I don't think I...
I didn't use the boarder crossing you are going to use but I did import 2 U.S. sleds through Port Huron. Make sure you look at the web site for the registrar of imported vehicles and it will give you the requirements. one of which being that you must fax the title to U.S. customs at the boarder...
Take a look at the parts finder under frame and I think you will find that these are replaceable similar to the Apex. I don't have a RX Warrior to look at but the fiche identifies them as available seperate.
Yes I was referring to the inner bolts that go thru from the front of the bulkhead and thru the A arms and out the back of the bulkhead and secured with a lock nut.
I am also interested in two of your bushing kits. Any idea on when they would be ready to ship and cost
? I have one machine...
Allan, I posted in another thread about the fact that the A arm bolts are shouldered and can be turned by hand when the weight is off the front end. I didn't get much response there so wondered if you had any comment on adding a washer under the head of the bolt to take up the slack. This...
Guy's I just had a look at my 06 Apex and there was play at the bulkhead end of the A arms. The bushings are worn like everyone has mentioned but I also noticed something else. The bolts are shouldered and when the nuts are tightened they tighten against the shoulder which is longer than the...
