For you guys that have ridden out in the Big Horns. We are looking at going out in March. We all have 137" tracks. We are guessing the snow should be pretty set up by then so we should be able to get around OK? I know there are no hard and fast rules just looking for others experiences. We are...
My stock weights were at 60.9. Brought the scale home this weekend.
Now that I know enough to be dangerous, I messed with it some today. Kinda fun.
Here is where I'm at right now:
Sled - LTX Model
Secondary - stock spring and Hauck helix
Primary - Hauck spring and stock weights which...
Here is an update. Spent about 4 hours with a buddy today and we put in the Hauck clutch kit number 5. It helped a ton. We have some fine tuning to do but it is close. It runs so much better already. Here is where we are at:
I forgot to bring a scale so I'm not sure on the final weight on the...
Washington State? If so, my gosh, you are going to be moving to a super snowmobile state. The riding opportunities are going to be 1000 times what the upper midwest has to offer. If so, keep it and ride it out there.
To be honest I'm not really bummed buying the clutch kit from Hauck. I spent some time on the phone visiting with Pat Hauck. I hope he is being up front and just not trying to make a few bucks. After visiting with him I think his kit might be a good fit for me. I want to be able to take the sled...
Got it back. It still did it. So, I ordered the whole clutch kit from Hauck and will just update the whole clutch. Different weights that will make easier to adjust for going out west. I think in the long run it will be a good move. I ordered kit number 5.
Dealer called and they replaced the helix with the one from the Hauck Performance. I will pick it up in a bit and will report back on what has changed. Hopefully the problem is solved.
That is funny. I'm a school teacher as well. We know a little about a lot of things but not much depth in many. Oh yea, I did change my own belt in about 10 minutes for the record.
Just out of curiousity, where are you located? I'm in central MN. About two hours north of the cities.
TJ I know what you are saying. I would have figured that the dealer would have recognized the problem and would have had a solution. I thought this what they did all day. I'm going to run it over tomorrow. I would tackle it on my own if I had that confidence.
So, here are my questions because...
That makes sense. Man I wish you lived near by. I would pay you whatever you wanted for your time and knowledge. Seems simple.
The one problem is my motor/technical skills are a weakness. I'm so uncomfortable doing that type of stuff. I would mess that up some way and create more problems...
I couldn't really say if the Doo is faster or not. I ran out to a buddies fish house the other night and I was moving along at 80 across the lake and there was plenty of throttle left. It just cruises so nice even at 80. The suspension is so smooth.
My viper has had some issues. Minor ones...
