Anybody have had problem with magnet style clutch weight throwing the magnets away?
First time I came home and there was a questionning new mark on the driven helix. Both magnet from the same weight were gone.
Put back 2 new magnets making sure they were sitting correctly.
Did about 100km and...
Yes i saw that great looking mod. The new shield was backordered when I ordered. I also did all the job myself. I am supposed to be picking up the new shield on thursday, so I will still have my old one.
Did you find it to lower the belt and clutchs temps by a good margin?
Its a good thing to check at the same time if the flexible is not leaking. I had mine cracked in two pieces. Covered by warranty. Had to replace shield and gaz tank protective wraps.
Yes for sure. I been grinding washer since the old days of the 700 triple. I now have the SLP tool to do it easier withois having to watch not to attack the weight. When i set these up now I run always the heavier rivet I think that will do the job, and I drill a hole in it to remove weight if...
Great idea. I wanted the Hauck at first because you can go 5.9g instead of the 4.5g Yamaha. But at 50$+ delivred for 9 rivets I will pass. I will probably try to find some heavy small diameter washers. Thanks.
I usualy run the Daltons. But had tried the stock weights working surprizingly well with a way bigger helix than stock and other tweaks. I think that by just modifying the curvature and add more weight will get me where I want. At least for the test I want to do.
I know Hauck have heavier rivets for yamaha clutch flyweights but I am far away and shipping is incredible for those small parts.
Do anyone know where I can find rivets over 5.5g in the north eastern?
I have used fishing weights in the past that worked good but cant seem to find the right size...
No. If you do a Search on EPI site and Dalton site and look on the Cat green specs, it is as follow:
All mesured at 2-1/2 and 1-7/16
EPI is 86-148
Cat green is 96-157
Dalton white is 98-165
So maybe a slight difference.
Cat green was 200rpm over the EPI at the same twist...
I was running Team in my Cat in 2018 with 22/48. Was doing as good milleage as my 2 buddy 2011 and 2015 Apex's, and that was on moderate speed open trails.
My Team primary was really starting to have that rattle sound after 1500km. Not as loud as the Yamaha one, but enough to be worried. It is...
I have the exact same sled but in black and green.
I like that Backcountry. Have now 5000km and never had need the scratchers. About 4500km trail and 500km off-trail.
I am only 150 pounds and use the QS3 at setting #2. IMO the real advantage is that you dont need to put air in them. I was...
Best setting I have found for me to date is the 37 with EPI Purple at 0-1. Any less wrap and it is lazier and rpm drop on hard acceleration. Cat green seem a bit too much spring for me and I would need less twist so it would be lazier and would have too much compression on top end. Will have to...
I had the exact same problem last year. Reverse coded and was not working. Blown fuse. Looked under the fuse box and the wire rubbed on that steel plate. Put a insulation protector on the plate and repaired the wire.
Currently running the EPI purple at 0-1. Really like it. Keep the RPMs right where they should be. Good snap too. But I do not have tested back to back tests with others since I use this one.
As we go faster, we are becoming alot more demanding. I remember hating my Nytro for handling, then test drove a XP and a IQ. Was really happy to get back on the seat of my Blue girl. I test drove my buddy 4 Gen BRP and never been impressed beside the weight transfert wich is exagerated. 1200...
