I know Hauck have heavier rivets for yamaha clutch flyweights but I am far away and shipping is incredible for those small parts.
Do anyone know where I can find rivets over 5.5g in the north eastern?
I have used fishing weights in the past that worked good but cant seem to find the right size anymore.
Thanks

Well, I have taken my mig welder and added weight that way. I just do a little at a time as to not get it terribly hot. It ain't pretty, but it works.I know Hauck have heavier rivets for yamaha clutch flyweights but I am far away and shipping is incredible for those small parts.

Put a washer behind the rivet. They are usually about 1.25 grams. The stock weights can be made to work ok with a light tune if on a limited budget. My friend uses them on SM powertrail with a 35/39 helix, orange thunder spring @40 and 1.25 grams added to the tip of the stock weights. He also uses the Ulmer pink spring which is very light in the primary. Great belt wear and low speed drivability. Revs about 8900-9000. Taps out his gearing in good conditions easily on his SRX.

I usualy run the Daltons. But had tried the stock weights working surprizingly well with a way bigger helix than stock and other tweaks. I think that by just modifying the curvature and add more weight will get me where I want. At least for the test I want to do.

Yep I tried Daltons this year. But see attached pic, Dealer added washer to original stock weights for tuned sleds with his tuned packages.
I ground down 1/2 gram from tip weight to achieve perfect WOT rpms for my next to last tune. So if you want cheap and have time to tune. Mine total weight is 73.8 a 73.9 with 35/39 helix. ( old Max Spool 16, 2 bar tune). Playing with these again just to see, with updated tune!!
FYI, tip weight on winders are already heaviest offered by Yamaha.

Exactly what my friend did! Sled runs great on powertrail. His washers on the tip looked a little smaller than yours.Yep I tried Daltons this year. But see attached pic, Dealer added washer to original stock weights for tuned sleds with his tuned packages.

Great idea. I wanted the Hauck at first because you can go 5.9g instead of the 4.5g Yamaha. But at 50$+ delivred for 9 rivets I will pass. I will probably try to find some heavy small diameter washers. Thanks.

You do realize that you will have to drill out the old rivet and replace with new to add the flat washers ?
I have also seen different size/weight flat washers used, and used on 3rd position rivet also. Old School.
I read that the Daltons allow for more top end, “jury is still out”.

This does add width to the arm, so make sure it does not rub sides.

Yes for sure. I been grinding washer since the old days of the 700 triple. I now have the SLP tool to do it easier withois having to watch not to attack the weight. When i set these up now I run always the heavier rivet I think that will do the job, and I drill a hole in it to remove weight if needed.
