    Backcountry track

I didn't keep the Nytro long enough to comment on longevity after I trimmed it. After 760 miles I didn't see any ill effects.

    Backcountry track

I had one on my '09 Nytro XTX. I trimmed it down to 1.5" and studded it. Worked great in my opinion. I rode mostly groomed trails with the occasional ditch.

    Lovin' it!

We did not. The ride was great, although the rider stance was completely different of course. I preferred the seating position and ride height of the Apex, although if I'd have put a whole day's riding in on it I'm sure the Cat/SW would have won my affections. I struggled with the Nytro in...

    Lovin' it!

I've put on about 700 miles on my 2008 LTX since buying this fall. Originally I had a Nytro XTX, but decided the Apex would fit my riding style better. After two trips to Mercer, Wisconsin I do believe I've found my sled! We rode around 160 miles a day, and I'm really happy with the ride. I had...

Yep, I'm fine. Ego a bit bruised, but lucky I didn't get FUBAR. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._Air_Force_acronyms_and_expressions#F

    Darn tree

As in flying, you're often faced with two choices. The correct choice is often the other one. I was ready to overshoot an unmarked corner on a trail. You know the one... you see the treeline / trail is a clear cut path for miles ahead and you're scooting along at the speed of stink, but the...

Nice line of Yammies at Mercer, Wi.

The Viper started right up! The smoke thing must have worked because I didn't see a single mosquito the whole weekend.

Nice line of Yammies at Mercer, Wi.

There was a nice lineup of Yamahas at the Great Northern hotel in Mercer, Wi when I was there week before last!

    Grips to hot.

You'll be glad you've got that mod! I turn on my Yamaheater when I start the sled, and then usually end up low to mid factory settings for the remainder of the ride (that was my experience when it was 5 F during my last ride). That extra heat to get the bars warmed up from the get-go makes a...

    Grips to hot.

If you have the super duper Rockmeister heater module there should be a small LED located somewhere on the dash. Green - standard Yammie heater settings, Red - the module is active and those grips will get HOT!

I was thinking about installing the bulkhead saver and welding a plate across the front where the bulkhead bolt was replaced by the gapping hole.

I hit a tree last weekend. Do you think this damage can be repaired, or is replacing the bulkhead in order?

    What did my buddy purchase?

Take a look at the rear suspension wheels. I bought my 2008 LTX with 4400 miles on the clock and ended up replacing all the idlers because the bearings were shot. I replaced the bearings in the rear axle and top suspension wheels too. All wheels have replaceable bearings now.
