I hit a tree last weekend. Do you think this damage can be repaired, or is replacing the bulkhead in order?

I was thinking about installing the bulkhead saver and welding a plate across the front where the bulkhead bolt was replaced by the gapping hole.

that should work.

Just like new!
Here's the reason why...ouch.

As in flying, you're often faced with two choices. The correct choice is often the other one. I was ready to overshoot an unmarked corner on a trail. You know the one... you see the treeline / trail is a clear cut path for miles ahead and you're scooting along at the speed of stink, but the trail takes an abrupt turn. I should have went straight into the deep stuff, but opted to try to make the turn. Let's say I committed to the turn a little too late.
