Honestly, I would much rather give up reverse than give up the 4 stroke motor. Planning to order a catalyst, but not at all excited about a 2 stroke motor.
There is really nothing wrong with the roller. Not sure I see the advantage to the shoe vs roller. The issue has always been the screws coming loose that hold the roller. As long as you tack weld the screws its not an issue.
While they may have done this with my product there is no way I'm not going down that path. I've worked hard to earn the respect of customers and I'm not going to tarnish it. It's really a shame for PEFI that some people refer to them in this manner now. Sure they may have sold product by doing...
Do you have to craft something up yourself if you have the aftermarket headers? Feel free to post up some pictures so I can get a visual on the header layout. Can certainly try to make something universal to work with the headers.
The viper is fixed to the chassis only, while the winder is fixed soley to the mid pipe. Due to expansion/contraction of that mid pipe the shield can't be tied into chassis or it would crack much quicker. I'm exploring possibility of a chassis mounted shield like the viper.
I've been in contact with Dave at DMC and he is no longer using the new Yamaha gear. Cat still sells the original machined gears and he is only using them moving forward.
As Steve said the easiest way to tell the difference is by the depth of splines. The original good gears do not have full...
The snowtrax review of the R-XC model talks about how all the zr, riot and mountain use the same tunnel and just have different plates that attach for drop brackets depending what skid it takes. Hard to understand exactly how its set up, but being able to share tunnel certainly is more cost...
Wander if fitting a piece of pipe inside the driveshaft would be a good idea. While the pipe inside would not reduce torque load on the shaft it would prevent catastrophic failure. The pipe would keep everything somewhat functional by allow one cog to still have braking and one for drive.
Been getting requests for the header heat shields. With age they seem to crack and come apart. Yamaha updated them on newer models, but they seem quite pricey. Pretty sure I can offer better quality at a lower price, but just curious as to how many have had issues with them failing.
Good chance the bolt broke off in the shaft at some point. Check to see if you can thead a bolt into the end. m10x1.25. Was a common issue on early year nytros. Yamaha eventually revised the shaft and end cap to prevent this. I have run them without the bolt. When you install the cover the...
Look for the triangle adjuster blocks on the rear arm. These have a soft, med, hard setting. Check to see what this is set to and adjust as needed.
In the middle of the rail there is what I will call a 2 up block. White plastic block that can be flipped up when ridding 2 up and flipped down...
Check ecu for fault codes in diagnostics. Ecu will store them and fault light doesnt always light up. Get codes and then clear them. Start fresh as some codes could be there for years if never cleared. If you have coil pack codes for all 3 cylinder its likely crank position sensor.
Water in...
