Been a long time! This references the sticky I created years ago. Share with newbies to help them out.
Special thanks to this site and all the vendors making great parts for these!
'Kinger's garage' has grown exponentially but not the revenue in... but $$ OUT. I added some atvs to the mix this year for lack of snow and a park here in Iowa where my 4 seat rzr is just too large. Anyway the maintenance is becoming a full time job for me! Here is my list:
4 seat rzr turbo...
I had to re watch this to get my head right for sled season! It’s actually a decent guide for anyone thinking of standalone ECU on really anything with a motor. Squiggly lines FTW!
Just curious what people are running for timing. On my meth injected, compound boost at 25psi I am around 15 degrees. The EGTs are quite hot and nothing helps, fuel, boost, etc. I am thinking maybe I am trying to be too safe and run timing too low? Engine is 9.2CR
Fuel is tough I want to...
I have been using 509 sinister for years they are cheap $50 ish goggles. No complaints little frost on the bottom edge.
I use them for ATVing now so I could step up to Aviators, which were awesome...on paper.
In real life AWFUL. Iced up nearly instantly one I hit 5 mph. Couldn't see the...
Most know the story, 2017 BTX 153 1.75; but on my 3rd engine but first complete long block from Yamaha (dealer assembled middle engine). Heading up to WI next week and I will be riding BOB but my dad is coming and will break in the winder again, for the 3rd time. Let's hope all the coolant...
So much work to get here, so much work left!
Hoping to be riding in WI end of month on this.
Let me know if you like the camera mount for the ride along!
Has anyone used EGTs and have a range they like to say is "safe"? I will lean on AFR for overall tuning, but will watch EGTs for evenness across cylinders. If anyone had any learnings they would like to share I would love to hear it. Right now I am thinking less then 1300 degrees F or 700...
I know its not a yammie but this is a great intro sled to get my girls excited to ride! They want to take "17 snow trips" this year LOL
If you're on YouTube send them a like please. See you on the trails!
As some of you know my 17 winder has blown up 2 times now taking it down for the entire year each time with the dealer assembling the new motor. The last time was Feb 2021 I took it in, finally got word a new yamaha assembled longblock motor is coming. Yay.
Sled will be on back up only duty...
I am on the hunt for a 2nd BOV that will go between the turbo and SC. I don't have a problem as of yet but I think with the way I chop the throttle in tight trails the way I like to, I thought it would be good to alleviate the pressure from both blowers instead of just up at the TBs post IC...
Not sure how many people are here anymore but I wanted to start a thread on Meth injection I will be sure to document my install and tuning of it in my garage thread but I wanted this to be a place for people to share their experience and what they liked/disliked and part recommendations...
The twincharged is just a boost machine. I think I need to go meth inj to keep the motor alive.
I have seen a few set ups in here show me what you got!
Also tank mounting in apex if you have pictures.
Thanks!!
Bringing the twincharged apex up for some riding then plan to be on the ice at Weenie on Saturday. Please stop and grab me if you recognize me. I would love to meet you!
I respond to Kinger!
Unreal!
Anyway I can’t control the boost. Any ideas?
4 port solenoid
12psi spring
Tial 38mm WG
Hits 15ish and takes off over 20. Thinking of going to a 4 psi spring.
I left my 5 yr old battery installed in the sled all summer and never touched it, started it right up after over 6 months of sitting. I start working on installing the motec and left it for 1 week with the battery and Motec hooked up. I come back the battery is dead and only registers 6V. So...
