I would bring it in and have the issues taken care of under the previous owners name, tell him he is a friend and you are droping it off for him, it cost me 45 to have my warrantee transfered, but mine will go till 2011, so it was worth the cost but yours will only have 4 months left... just my...
No when they did mine they told me half hour plus the cost of oil and filter, i think the half hour labor rate was 30 -40.00 plus oil and filter, it might have been 75.00 i would have to look. i called and asked before i brought it in. if it was too much money i would have attempted it myself...

looks like he made two plates and used the stud backer to hold them in place, great idea... I just dont put mine on, i just carry them, and if i get pulled over i show it to the dnr and tell them it has been too cold to put them on. No big deal, plus i rarely ride any trails, they are boring.
I bought the sticker kit that was up for sale on it and also had welterracer powder coat some of my stuuf candy blue, he still has the foot holds, and i hope to get them back this week, he does an awesome job.
I hope somone could make an upgrade to the rear skid that uses the rear skid, maybe new holes for different arms and shocks, the timbersled rear end is 1600, seems like alot, especially when i paid 3800 for my mtn lite with 600 miles.
I was on the way home from the hospital tonight (father just had emergency open heart surgery sunday night to replace a valve) but anyways, lots of people have been talking about how the extra intake filters (6- 1" round ones) and how they worry about the filter part being sucked into the motor...
