Hey 900; How do you like the 136 intense track? I am just installing one and havn't had a chance to ride it yet. Too bad this track is not available in a 144". It would make an excellent track for the new Apex XTX!!!!
I am still using the original battery in a 2005 Vector with no problems. Ony time I charge the battery is when I take the sled out of storage in the fall.
Welt: The Nytro will smoke the xp 600 SDI every time. At our local races a Nyto MTX won the 600 class by at least as much as in the video. These were formal drag races on snow using lights with a timing system. BTY, the Nyto just missed the finals in the 700 class.
I put 20,000 km on a 136" proaction in my 1999 Venture and it is not even close to the supension in the Vector. I bought a 05 Vector over the Rage last year just to get the new skid and I will be extending the Vector this year.
Same here. I was looking at an new Attack but the price is insane here in Canada. I will keep my Vector until they fix this problem. They will notice this problem as a lack of sales this year.
Hi Allen,
The sc comes with pulleys for 5 lbs of boost but what boost will you get by reversing the pulleys? What is the max boost this unit is capable of? Thanks
How about computer controlled clutching. Think about the possibilites of having several pre-programmed clutch curves. One for racing, one for trail riding, one for economy, etc. Yamaha is capable of this technology. Replace the torque sensing helix with load cells to actually measure the...
Well I finally got the snow shovelled and got out for a ride. Here is a couple of pics from todays ride. It was very hard going today but will be much better when the snow settles a little more.
I found the ski tip with the snowblower!!! You guys should really consider a trip up here. It is well worth it for spring riding. I will get out on machine this weekend and get some more pictures...
Total snowfall of 104 cm. LaLaLa That is over 3 feet of snow! Should extend the season into early May. You guys should take a trip to Newfoundland instead of putting your sleds away. We have great spring riding and always have rideable snow in April, but this is NOT normal.
I would love to see a good turbo run but I doubt it will ever be on my sled. I love my Vector the way it is. Awesome trail sled.
Terry Cole owns that Storm. It runs pretty good, I havn't seen him get beat yet this year. He won the Race on the Rock in Corner Brook in January.
Hi Auskins,
That was my Vector running at the race. The inseresting part is that I could only pull about 8000 RPM going up the hill. If I had time to do some more testing it would have been much closer. I had no problem beating most out of the hole but they would run me down on the big end.
The Vector is geared higher than the Rage but it is not shifting all the way out. Both the rage and vector use the same weights but the rage has 4.5g rivits in the tip and the vector has 3.6g rivits.
Gear the vector down and add 4.5g to the tip and you WILL gain some top end.
Has anyone tried different gearing on their Vector. I am not a big fan of top end but I want the best for corner to corner and 1000' runs. I'm wondering if gearing down to 21/38 (1.83) would be better for my riding.
I noticed the Rage is geared lower than the Vector (1.77 vs 1.73) but from...
If they locked the track up while stopping for the road crossing, it is likely that the belt was down in the secondary. If you lock up the track with the clutches shifted out this will happen EVERY TIME. Get them to try this and see if it is the same symptions. When stopping you should always...
I wanted a 136" track when I bought a machine this year but I chose the Vector over the Rage just to get the new skid. I put 20,000 kms on a 99 Venture with the old proaction and believe me the Vector is light years ahead. The Rage has better (clicker) shocks than the Venture had but I still...
nhrxrider: I agree it is very easy to pressurize the gas tank and force gas through the gas pump, but if the gas tank vents are correct there is never any pressure in your tank. I have rejetted many Yamaha 2-strokes and when you let the gas lines go from the carbs the tank never drains (even...
