That is good to hear . I didn't change the chain case side when I did the clutch side . It blew on me the next season ,so be happy that you changed it .You should be good for 6000 miles now .
No need to replace that .Unless you damaged it some way . Mine has a metal locking tab which is reusable .Yamaha reused mine when they did it on warranty . Just change the bearings .
I am not sure what you mean . If you mean the jack shaft bearing right
behind the secondary ,then yes definitely change it . If you are talking about the nut ,then no reuse it .
It would be a good idea ,but I just used a long punch and a hammer .
That nut has a self locking ring on it . Just make sure that you tighten the chain side first ,and that the locking sleve is loose so that it can center its self when you tighten it .
Yea Yamaha says to hang a 10 lb weight on it and then set it to 1.5 in ,I am guessing at that because I havn't checked the manual for years . If you set it the way they say you will burn more fuel ,and buy more bearings .
I run my track with about 1 inch drop with the rear off the ground ,I dont put any weight on it . It will ratchet a bit in real deep snow .I replaced my track with one with all the holes open and it is louder than the original.
I rode with a guy saturday with a rev 600 SDI he beat me on fuel...
Lugs are usually riped off by spining on a rock . I wonder if ice build up could cause it as well . last year I riped 3 feet off of the right side of my track ,going up a hill with a rock half way up .Never saw it just felt it .
Track was toast .
I have a block heater in my sled I never used it unless I stayed at the cabin over nite . This winter has been realy cold up here ,-46 at times .
I pluged it in over nite . The next morning I trailered with the cover on fo an hour ,when I got there it started like it was summer .I was amazed ...
That bearing does not run in oil .there is a seal between the case and the bearing some oil gets past the seal but not much .These are crapy bearings .
They will usually slide out easily . This is the first that I have heard of a protector cage . On my sled the bearing on the other side went .I had to back up for a half mile to get to a place to pick it up .If I tried to go forward it made a horrible noise .It was grinding out the case . If I...
I have an 05 ,I think they are the same .I think the rear springs are stiffer in the 07 . I think there are also acouple of more wheels on the rear . That sounds like a good deal to me .
There is a small hose on the bottom that is hard to get on because it is to short . You must make sure it is on when you put the air box back because if you don't it will blow all of the oil out of the engine .Look for cracks or breakage in the bulk head where the a arm mounts . I would also...
You have to take the air box off ,and I think the battery and battery box .
I also took off the hood as it is easy and it makes it ,easier to work .
you will likely want to replace the arm .
