I've ridden both in deep snow conditions (same day) (2'-3') the extra length of the MTX will carry you way further with less effort than a XTX. I set up mine for crossover as well, it is much easier to take the MTX to a crossover than it is to make a XTX a good deep snow unit. JMO

I also rode one earier this week in the Snowy's.

Just got back from the Snowy's and all I can say is WOWWWWWWWW! Fresh POW everyday except for one. Rode the last two days in 3-4 feet of fresh, with drifted conditions. Ryan Park, Snowy Mnt Lodge, and Centennial.

Looks like Carbon Country got between 30"-42" of fresh. So can anyone help me on what part of that area is more favorable: Snowy Range.....area A Sierra Madres....area B Shirley Mountains...area C

We had planned on leaving for Laramie Thurs. Looks to be lacking snow most everywhere I call and access a web cam.Was hoping to ride some Mnt hills,bowls, and medows. All non-boosted sleds with much off-tail experience. I've looked at quite a few web-cams but nothing looks to be much better...

Does anyone know for sure if the 08' MTX fuel map..is identical to the fuel mapping of a Shortie Nytro built for low elevations?

Is the changeout done all on the top mount, or is there something to do down below too?

I just set-up a couple of hundred miles ago with a AC Red/White per info from Skidooboy. Works much better than the stocker. No Engine Mods or Boost!

When trying to use the folded over track on hard packed trails, the track feels extreemly loose due to the fact that there is no direct sharp pressure points on the ground. I'd say try it and when you find that it may not be what you want you can always trim it down as some of us have until you...

Funny that the other Manufacturers are useing CE's or as Cat is using the PowerClaw. My guess is that Yamaha got a GREAT deal on the over-produced Mav's and their consumers are fortunate enough to get one per sale, at no extra charge! :moon:

Ok in a hypathical optimum primary set-up with clutch weights for this Nytro Motor? Having a 3-hole configuration type flyweight. What do you think is the best weight distribution set-up. All holes equal in weight: outer and center holes carring more weight than the heel : or heel ang tip heavy...
