    Marginal snow wheel kits?

I had to shorten my limiter straps, just to keep the skis planted. :flag:

    Marginal snow wheel kits?

They'll fit in the rear, on a 121 skid. I had them, for a couple rides.

Yamaha ice scratchers on a 121" skid?

Wow, might want to check clearances. I was worried about breaking mine off, being right in front of the rear bottoming bumpers, but they lived through it. I didn't lock-tite mine, but the star type lockwasher held good enough.

    Stator Problems

I have 2500 miles, and no problems. A friend of mine, goes through one about every 8,000 miles; on his '05 Vector.

Yamaha ice scratchers on a 121" skid?

I got them on e-bay. They're called Slidekicks. There's a dealer on there, that sells them new. They also have replacable tips, that are basically a U-bolt cut in half.

    Marginal snow wheel kits?

I tried the Yamaha Marginal kit, just in the rear. 1 disappeared the first ride. The other disappeared, on the 2nd ride. Make sure to use RED locktite, when bolting them to the rail. I have a friend, that ran them front and rear, on his '05 Vector. Within a few thousand miles, the bearings...

Yamaha ice scratchers on a 121" skid?

I run the cable type. They work great, but I also have the pro-action skid.

What are the best snowmobile boots?

My point is, that the clutches throw heat, at the left foot. The 2-strokes have the exhaust, on the right side= additional heat for right foot. With no extra source for heat, the right foot gets cold. A couple friends, with '05 Vectors, have the same concern.

What are the best snowmobile boots?

I'm still trying to find a set, that'll keep my right foot warm. I bought some Itasca boots last year. Comfort rated to -45 F, yeah right. Even with wool socks, my right foot still got cold. I have a problem with circulation, so my hands and feet get cold easily.

    how many pics? (studs)

On my '06 Nytro. I run 96 down the center belt of the track, in a V pattern, repeating every 4 gaps. They're Woody's stainless studs, with aluminum backers. I think they're only 1.37" studs. They don't stick out very far from the lug of the track. The dealer installed them, before I picked...

    Sled Shops

Rich Kay, showoff. ;)! just kidding. That place looks awesome. I just use a Mr. Heater. Mounts right on top of the bulk Propane tank. Just be carefull, you don't melt anything too close. lol I have a 2 1/2 car garage, so I have to back my truck out, to work on the sled. Have fun.

    no fog

I just used an HJC helmet, with electric shield. If you have a tall enough windshield, you can leave the breath deflector out. Cold weather, with low windshield, requires the breath deflector. Last season, I bought a used 1st gen BRP modular helmet. Even without the electric shield, I never...

    Front Spring Load Question

Are you not running Fox Floats? My bud did what you did with his Fox Floats(let air out until the front end sat leverl) and absolutely loved it, said it made a huge difference with handling. I am running the Fox Floats. It just didn't seem as planted, with everything soft. I can handle...

    Front Spring Load Question

I tried lowering my front end, so the arms were level, and it pushed through the corners horribly; Even with the front shock spring all the way loose. So, I put it back where it was. My sled rides high, and a little rough; but it takes the rough stuff well, and corners when I want; though I have...

    WD-40 - Who knew!

My big use, on the snowmobile, is spraying down the suspensions, bellypan, and tunnel; to prevent corrosion when I park the sled for the summer. From what I've read other places, WD-40 is not really a rust penetrant, but a rust preventer.

    New Yamaha Prices

I have to admit, that's one thing I like about the small area I live in. A dealer within 20 miles of me, sells all 4 brands. The Yamahas sell so well, that when the '08 Nytro came out, I picked up a leftover new '06 Nytro, for $2k less than sticker. $2500 trade-in, on my '04 Venom was a little...

What does every one do to pass the dog days of summer fun

Besides being a mechanic, I work on my brother's farm. I bought my first house last summer, so I spend a lot of free time fixing/remodelling that. I always have friends' vehicles to work on. This summer, I'm helping a friend turn his Ram 3500 into a single axle dump truck, with a hydraulic...

    Ways to reduce friction

I noticed a huge difference in rolling resistance this winter, just adding ice scratchers. It didn't seem to have near the harsh decel, when letting off the throttle. Obviously reduced friction. Plus, my slides lasted longer.
