I made the Change
I bit the bullet after owning an RX-1 and then a 07 Attak GT. I have close to 8000miles on the Attak. I did everything to it to make it handle better. Snowtracker extremes are great but 1000miles in 3 days left my shoulders torn up. Rear suspension broke in many places. One of...
My 07 Attak does the same drone. Horrific if you are following a tour group and you can't pass too easy. Track lenght has nothing to do with it. It's all engine harmonics.
Installed the 8" rear wheels with the bling/bling outer wheels. Looked great. After 3000miles and having changed the slides, I didn't tighten down the axle nuts good enough (pain in the a**) with a crowfoot wrench. Now my rails are badly damaged. Other than that they worked great.
Going on a big trip in Quebec this weekend. Some trails don't have gas for at least 120-130 miles. I feel a lot better if I would be able to carry an extra gallon or 2 of fuel with me. Does anybody have an idea about this?
I have dealt with them on several occasions. I also bought the cold air intake last year. They seem disorganized but once you get them on the phone, they will take the time to help you. Don't bother leaving a message, just try again.
Found out exactly how much fuel the o7 Attak GT holds. 38.2 litres. 1 block from the gas station up in Parent Quebec. They changed the trail and added 1 hr. of riding. I used 45.5 litres for 150 miles on the way up and used 39.8 litres on the way back while riding harder. What's up with that. My...
Too much torque!!! Have heard of it before but have never seen it myself. When you take it appart have a good look at the chaincase where the lower bearing sits. A lot of flex has taken place here and the case could be cracked or bent.
Install a cold air intake system and the performace will improve. Nicer sound too. A lot less expensive. http://www.fixpowersports.com/pages/cus ... r-kit.aspx
Link to cold air intake system. ;)!
Did you guys see the spec. for fuel capacity? It is down to 9.2 Gallons. That is almost 10% less from the 2007. I'm only getting about 110 miles per tank as it is. :o| :o| :o|
You will find it harder to get it in reverse as well as there is always pressure on the chain and gears. This happened to me. I went back and made double sure I got the right belt. Found out I had the wrong part #. Got the right belt on and life is good and quiet again.
Where is the snow...
With so many belts available, is the stock Yamy belt still the best. I had mine blow up at 1500miles. It made a huge mess and created an oil leak from the crank. Would a G/Y Gatorback be better?
I just checked with the Yamy dealer and he said the first part #was for an Apex and the second for an Attak, both to be installed in the front position at the curve. Any info on this because I want to install some in the front and the middle of my 07 Attak GT.
