If 154kmph was the highest the speedo was showing than there is something wrong. My 05 warrior will show 190's all day on the speedo. My old 03 rx-1 got slower and slower every year. If you seeing 154 on radar then it's not asbad, still slow.
The frist thing I would look at is your clutches...
I'm sure there was something wrong with the 03. I could barely hit 10K rpms. The 05 will run up around 10800rpms.
The road wasn't all ice. There was decent traction with little resistance. How much is the speedo off? 10%? 20%?
I sold my stock 03 Rx-1 during the summer and picked up a 2005 Warrior. I finially got out for a ride yesterday. WOW, what a difference.
Usually I'm hurting after the first ride of the year, but I feel great. My Shoulders are a little sore from hanging on. There's no sled engine out there...
All engines make some noise, it's probably normal. But if you hearing a loud distinct ticking you may want to get it checked out. At 2200 miles you shouldn't have any problems. What oil are you using?
The clutch on these sleds do rattle. The noise will go away at around 2k rpms. Are you sure...
Just cut, weld, and go. Your not really doing anything other than changing the sound. Maybe a little better air flow, but not enough to justify changing the jets. 4 strokes are forgiving in this area compared to a 2 stroke.
I don't see how this would cause any problems. Would a better flowing...
Here's a video I found, I believe this guy is on here. I believe he only removed the center pipes. I did the same to my 03, sounded just like this one.

In this thread there's a picture of the inside of a stock exhaust.

I removed all the pieces in the center.
Gut the stock exhaust.
I did it with my old RX-1 and I'm doing it again with my warrior.
Cost me about $20 to get welded. Sounds great, and cheap. More of a deeper sound at idle and low RPMS, screams at WOT.
I sold my 03 Rx-1 over the summer. Just picked up a 2005 Warrior.
I know there were quite a few changes to the 05's. Does anyone have a link? or remember?
This is what I remember:
- Seat is higher
- Titainium Parts (exhuast, chaincase cover, ????)
- New rings to prevent oil usage
Not sure on a price for your area. But I would defintaly sell some of the extras first, and bring it back to stock.
I might be interested in some of the stuff.
Black John,
Is this setup for sea level? What are the stock jets in the 03 RX?
My 03 is getting slower every year. First year 192Kph on Speedo, second year 175, and this past weekend I could bearly get 163 out of it. My RPMs are around 9700.
I've been thinking about adding a turbo to my 03 rx1. The only thing that's stopping me is that there are days when I'm barely crawling through the trails. I have a cottage, and I spend a lot of time messing around on the lakes. But there are times when I spend 15-20 mins going through tight...
