Talked to my dealer today about the track howling problem and he told me that he had about 8 or 9 complaints about this noise. He said that they contacted Yamaha Rep. we'll see what happens. I'm sure glad i got rid of my vector. :oops:

Just wondering how many miles you have on your sled? Mine didn't start until about 850-900 miles. It's to bad because i like the sled with the exception of that noise at cruisin speed. I also hate wearing ear plugs. Again excellent web site and a lot of good info.Let just hope someone at Yamaha...

I believe it just the shorties because my friend has a rage and he doesn't have the noise either.

I've also talked to my dealer and he call yamaha and there not aware of any problems with loud track noise. I don't think those people answering the phones ever rode a sled. I'm very disgusted with it.

I didn't get the howling noise until i got about 800 miles on mine. Now it's terrible. It's pretty bad when your buddy wants to ride your sled and you don't let him because your ashamed of the noise.

Let's hope yamaha listens and delivers on some of the complaints from the 05's. Just hope they don't forget .

as99, I was thinking the same thing!!

My track howling is not at a high rate of speed it between 40-50 miles per hour. I agree the track is a great track but very loud. I am not willing to let other people ride my sled.

Please keep us posted on how you make out.
