I have an 08 and an 09. Did they come with the harness already? I replaced the grip elements on my 08 last year and just plugged into the hareness connectors. I don't know if the sub harness is there. I don't find either one of them very warm even on high...so I suspect they don't have it. Is...
Does this update apply to Canadian models? Cubby...you're from Winnipeg so you've done it. I haven't seen that service bulletin on Yamaha Canada's website. Does the harness apply to our sleds and can you order it from a Canadian dealer or did you order it from the US?
Thanks Cannondale!
I have a friend who works at Yamaha Canada whos looking into any service bulletens on this.
My 08 is actually a US import, so he's not sure if the VIN # will tell him anything. Comparing my 09 when I pulled the clutch cover off and moved the primary up and down, it...
I bought the sled used in Ferbuary and it only had about 5000k on it. I did a filter change myself right after I bought it. I removed the filter from below without going through the top. It appeared to be an original filter still...so no one went in through the top. I can't see having to remove...
Hey guys..tearing into my 08 steering to replace all the busings when I notice the engine moves up and down a little to much when pulling up on the primary clutch. Upon closer inspection I see a missing engine mount bolt and the opposite one loose! Is this a known issue?? Tried searching for...
Had a look at the Sled Toyz website to see what he's done. Good idea going with a two piece aluminum bronze bearing race to replace the steel race. Found it amusing in his video to remove the original race, he used a vise intsead of a press...but he got it out!
Making any bearings/bushings...
Thanks Jeff!
I hear the stock ones are made of plastic?..lol..if so, boy Yamaha is really stretching things cost wise. Steering busings are also plastic...is this true?? I can use oillite, 660 bearing bronze or even the super tough aluminum bronze alloy. I use this AL/bronze for...
I'm a full service machine shop with full CNC capabilities. Not to take anything away from Schmidt Bros, but something so simple as turning down some rods ends, I can do here. I know when I can't do something and use the service of others. I plan to buy thier clutch kit later this year.
My...
I just bought a used 09 as well as having an 08. I'll get into them after the season is over. Curious to see if there is a difference in the ball joints once I take them off.
I'll machine them down as per everyone's recomendation. I'll also drill a grease hole down the center of the ball...
Thanks guys! I've gathered enough info already as well as a few more search results. Also found the website on your M10 suspension Jeff...looks interesting.
:-o
After 30 pages of searching...found something. If anyone else wants to add something, please do.

Thanks Jeff for your help. You did yours yourself...I can do it myself also. How much did you remove? In my search it says remove 2.5 mm...
Tried searching for this before posting,
http://www.schmidtbrosmotorsports.com/y ... t-upgrade/
but couldn't find anything on this. Direct me to the thread on this if it exists? I'm interested in trying this out... Has anyone got this mod on thier Phazer and noticed the claimed improvment...
So what are you saying there Weapon?? Both head and tail fail to come on when starting, but not all the time.
Is it safe to say that it's the load control relay that is common to both that would be the culprit? According to the trouble shooting in the service manual for both head and tail...
That's allot of miles on 1 filter.
I know Yamaha recomends every 12000km, but I wouldn't go that far. Most people shy away beacause it's a hassle to get to. I was able to remove mine through the suspension with only removing the lower cowling ( modified oil filter wrench). The owner before...
It's happening after the sled has been riden for some time...so plenty of warm up. It wasn't washed or nothing the night before, and it's sitting in my garage where it's not to cold before I head out.
I think you're on the right track though as a relay being the cause. It has to be one that's...
Hello guys...newbie here.
Just bought an 08 RTX with about 3500 miles on it. Sled is in great shape and I've logged about 300 miles on it so far.
My question is that I’ve had an intermittent problem with my headlight and taillights. When I start it up the lights don't always come on. I...
