Do you ruin a gasket on muffler and need a new one? That is what I was told, that is why I asked them to do it. If not I will check it as soon as I get it back.
If they supposedly just checked it the gasket will come out without wrecking it. i had rode mine about 20 miles since a new gasket...
you can pull the muffler out when you get it back home and check it. not a big deal to do. loosen jam nut on tensioner and spin the adjuster in until finger tight and then back off 1.5 turns. you will see other threads about this adjustment. the manual seems to be wrong with the 1/4 turn back...
yeah engine temp was normal on mine when it did it. below 170. i called my dealer about it and they seem to think it might be a bad sensor, but how are they going to know. you know damn well its not going to repeat for them. i'm going to keep riding until it actually becomes a problem.

here is what i did. i did my first service at 270 miles. chain was just over 3 turns out from finger tight. did it by the book to 1/4 turn back, rode the sled a total of 300 feet and back into the shop. chain was WAAAYYYYY too tight. loosened it to a full turn, much better sounding, but still...
