Studding a 121x15x1.25 pre drilled 144 Ripsaw question

Just did this on my new pre drilled track installing 144 Stud Boy Power Points. You will need 48 double backers and 48 singles. Also, just a warning, the pre drilled holes are very tight and they are a pain to put in. Your hands will be sore.

    2013 Apex XTX

Does anyone know if there are many changes between the 2013 and 2014 XTX other than the ski's? Is the slider wear issue corrected on the 13's? I currently drive an 06 Apex and am looking at a leftover 2013 for around $11,200. Any input would be appreciated.

    Clunking/Rattle under load.

2006 Apex Er. Posted a topic several weeks ago about a strange rattle, clunking noise. The noise was very strange and several people replied that it sounded like bearings in the chaincase. Well, I put 550 miles on the sled with the rattle and the sled ran great, just the noise. I took the...

Blew a belt for the first time.

Ive always greased both every season following instructions from this site. This year, I replaced the driveshaft just for a piece of mind. After running it on the stand, i pulled the secondary and checked the jack bearing. Looks good, well greased.

Blew a belt for the first time.

2006 Apex ER with nearly 6500 miles. Only rode 500 miles last year and 30 so far this year due to poor snow conditions. This weekend, I put 35 miles and started hearing a strange sound, almost like a grinding or rattle sound near the left front side. Checked belt and discovered it peeling...

    Phazer shut down.

2009 Phazer RTX, 1000 miles, new this fall. My buddies Phazer suddenly shut down at idle. Sled would not restart at first but was eventually able to get it running. It is only running on one cylinder. Could this be a fouled plug? Has anyone had this similar problem occur? He was riding...

Upper guide wheels. Any tips for install?

Im trying to replace the rear upper guide wheels on an 06 Apex ER. It was a pain to remove the old ones and even harder to put the new ones on. The bearing is a tight fit on the shaft and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to make it easier. Thanks

    Question:

What side is it safe to turn the sled onto? I recall people fouling plugs if they turn it on the wrong side to perform service.

Changing Donuts - Stripped the allen type bolts

I began the donut replacement following the directions found in the FAQ section. Everything was going great until I reached the point where I had to loosen the two allen type bolts near the front of the Y pipes. The rear bolts were simple but the allen type ones were very rusted and I stripped...
