Thick part to front or rear? I installed mine with Thick towards front of ski. With front lifted the skis seem to be flat. I had to grind down my bushings about 1/16 each side to get the spindle installed

I heard from one reputable builder that has seen the 2016 motor with ~1000 miles have rod failure. I also wanted to be able to turn up the power but that also would void the warranty anyway.

Anyone hear any news regarding Yamaha proactively recalling the 2016 Vipers to replace rods? I managed 600 miles with the 180 kit last year, but felt every ride out might be my last. I have so much money tied up in the sled now I may just bite the bullet and have stronger rods put in now...

I used 1.63 Triggers in my 2016 LTX Turbo. No issues with the length. New 600 miles These are Triggers are more of a "lake racer" stud not a traditional trail stud, but they hold up decent.

I hope the rumor regarding Yamaha offering a Rod Replacement is true.....sure would make me a happy camper again (this 2016 Viper is my 4th new Yamaha).

darn I was hoping that mine with 600 miles had crossed the threshold of having good rods. Guess not. Mine was dyno'd with less than 1 mile on it. Even had bad boost controller for half a dyno pull (saw 8 psi). Took the EABC off and did 4-5 pulls with best of 181 HP at 8900 rpms (~5 psi)...

Who recalls the mighty release of the 2003 RX1 (which I snow checked BTW first ever snowcheck) snowmobile mags were saying 122mph out of box. They weren't lying and I saw 120's on my speedo also.......to bad it was off by 10%. GPS was 111-113. So maybe Yamaha "recalibrated" the speedos again...

Hey InRBigness, what are you seeing for boost readings. I swear with EABC unplugged I read 5psi on boost and with EBAC I see 6 psi (maybe I just didn't hold it WOT long enough with it unplugged for it to get to 6 psi). Wondering if lengthing my waste gate rod will effect anything given the...
