I noticed mine is hard to start when hot, sometimes stalls, you have to ease into the throttle to keep it idling.
My "diagnostic wheel" stopped at spark plugs. Originals @ 13000km's.
TPS falls within specs.
I have not quite burnt first tank of fuel with inj cleaner.
I'm going to fill...
I just finished mine. It will hang up on some rivets while pushing the arm up into place to meet the mounting holes. I let my stand down partially so that I didn't have to raise the arm too much. Becareful that the plastic bushings for the front arm don't get caught either!
As far as the back...
The reason they break is stress. Riding late on Sundays in high traffic areas tend to get a little rough.........and if you're hussling to get home for Sunday dinner.... Well it doesn't matter what suspension you have. Stuff breaks.
Great sled. I can't wait to see what Yamaha comes out with...
Absolutely! It is definately not made for mogul smashing. But, it did last pretty long considering this set up perfect for aggresive trail riding. I'm actually anxious to see the difference between the original and the updated design.
$460 from my local dealer for the 08/09 version. $520 for the "Special" w-arm listed as having upgraded hardware for 2007 modeal year???
We'll see if the one I ordered matches the one in your picture.
13000km's with heaviest spring and custom valving.
When you say beefed up by Yam....Yam who?
I just pulled my skid tonight to have a once over and found three different areas cracked. Now the scramble begins....fix or replace?
Did your dealer do that for you? Or is that an updated arm??
If it is an updated arm, what is the part number? and...
I guess it's all pretty much preference for your trail conditions and riding style. I found it necessary to change the rear spring and re-valve all of the shocks to give me the ride quality and the performance I'm after.
I am sitting with about 900 - 1000km's on this belt. Forgot to mention white secondary spring. I'm going to add a shim to the secondary to adjust the belt height and see what that does......
My Apex was doing the exact same thing this past Saturday in the exact same scenario....except my results were not as favourable. After pulling out 2 lengths ahead, not only did the Rev hunt me down...it passed me and led me to the end of the Lake. 11100 rpm's WOT. What adjustment will bring the...
If you make it work by lightening up the primary & getting a stiffer secondary & primary spring your gonna have a crappy compromise at the best & really unbalanced clutching with the secondary doing all the work.
Please decipher for me???
When I first rode mine with new set up in skid i set everything to thier softest position....(spring and shock) I weigh about 200lbs with out my suit and I now ride with my RA Adjuster on the third or fourth position from softest, and my spring is on the third notch from its softest setting...
Just got my fronts back. Recharged and revalved. Anxious to see if it makes as big of a differance as it did on the rear. (Attack H.D. Spring, Revalved, and custom remote reservoir w/ rebound and compression adjustments on rear mono)
