Received Er-1 code. brought it in and replaced little black thing above left foot well. It would run but any time you put in reverse it died. There was some smoke and the smell of burning plastic coming through steering opening.

Guys up at Watson's Marine in U.P. were a great help and big thanks to Ray in Grand Marai for towing my sled down to Yamaha. They could not solve my problems totally but the effort was well placed. Most dealers do not stock ECU for the Apex. I will have to let it sit locally till they solve my electrical demons.

Great snow in Munising area. Trails were great.

I received that code last year on my 06 apex. Was going down the trail then the sled just quit. Sled would restart but would stall when you hit the throttle. Ended up being the drive shaft bearing. Bearing was in pieces and took out the speedo sensor. Mine has 8,000 miles when the bearing went. Hopefully this is your problem, easy inexpensive repair.

that sounds about right. I am having better luck forward, but it dies instantly in reverse. I have 4400 mi so I am curious. dropped it at the dealer today. Hope to have answer soon.

Sure was

Bearing took out the speedo sensor. Bad bearing was probably the reason I was seeing such poor top end. 105 was my best and even a bad day could do 115.
