That simply is not true! When Yamaha (or any manufacturer) buys large amounts of any component to put on the sled, they get huge price reductions over what an individual consumer has to pay. Their cost increase per sled with the Ohlin shocks vs the 07 Yammie clickers upfront is probably in the...
That figure of 110.4" length for the Apex LTX is an ERROR. That's the length of the standard Apex not the LTX(Attak). The only change for the 08's is the Ohlin shocks upfront vs the Yammie shocks on the 07's. A great deal for $1000 increase in price, NOT!!
Nobody raises the cost of a sled $1000 in one year without substantial upgrades which is not the case with the Apex/Attak. For a grand less I'll put up with the Yammie shocks upfront as opposed to Ohlins. By the way your defense of Yammie's absurd price increase is a little weak!
That's understandable but you don't raise the price a $1000 over last year's Apex/Attak with no improvements, maybe $200 to $300 but not a grand. That's absurd. Also with the Vector upgrade to rider forward why wouldn't they put the new 3 cylinder 130 in. The door was open for Yammie to make...
Yamaha had the other 3 brands on the ropes and they blinked. What the h___ are they thinking about. They make no improvements that I can see to the Apex/Attak and raise the price a full $1000, WOW!! They go to rider forward on the Vector and leave the old carburated 120 in when they have the new...
Simple physics, guys, everything else being equal including rider weight, a Apex should have a slightly higher topend. It is pulling 20 less lbs + or - than an Attak and a lot of that extra poundage on the Attak is crucial rotating track weight.
The C&A Outlaws might be a tad extreme, you might want to go with C&A Razors instead. Many like the Simmons but I prefer to stick with the single wearbar skis. Curious myself about the new USI X2's. Has anyone run those???
Talk about brand loyalty, look at the Polaris boys still buying Polaris after the Fusion fiasco. Anyone that buys a first year sled has to expect a much higher chance of trouble, you are darn lucky if you have a first year sled with no problems.
I notice that some are dropping the Apex top gear to 23, I believe the RTX comes with a 22 and the Attak with a 23. There is also some going with a 40 bottom gear. What ratio are most running out there for gearing?? A guess I started a pretty HOT topic, very interesting and informative info to...
I am curious about the most effective clutch kit out there. Hear lot of good things about Proline and Ulmer Stage 2. Is there any advantage to one or the other?? Are both kits trailable?? It's time to weigh in with some results.
Ditto, but I think it will be a modified Phazer chassis based on their current Nytro racer. A little larger and wider than the current Phazer to fit in the larger motors. Yammie does have a higher HP new Gen 150 they could drop in the Apex/Attak and flat out clobber the Mach Z and F10 with about...
Everything being equal (clutching, weight of rider etc), the laws of physics will give the Apex a slightly faster topend. The Attak weighs about 20 lbs more with most of that weight being in the longer track. Which means you are pushing around 15lbs more rotating weight with the same HP motor...
The chart provided shows a 68 link chain with the 23/38 gearing, you're saying the 23/38 uses the 70 link chain just like the stock 24/38 gearing. Who is right???
