Went to the U.P. this weekend with a long time riding buddy that always buys a new Cat every year. This years was the 1000 Crossfire, after 500 miles he blew the rear shock which resulted in eating the tunnel. Cat gave him a new replacement sled, new sled had 100 miles and the rear limiter stap bolts gave! We did a trail side fix on that, continued on and the rear tail light quit. So we just rode a safe distance apart, about the 220 mile mark I noticed at a idle the crossfire would shoot a nice size flame out the exhaust. Well it wasn't long and he had a fire! The belly pan and some of the oil tank was all melted! He was so proud of his Cat he would not admit there was some issues, I thought the sled would be a lot faster than my Attak as well. But after a few races on the road, lakes, and railroad grades I still pulled from top to bottom. I tell ya those Cat guys have some dedication!

It's not "dedication!" it's called a sickness.

You know the sad thing is it is not the cat guys or the doo guys it is any brand first year buyers that get bit! We should get paid testing royalties!
Well if my Attak had those problems I am sure I would jump ship, thats why I left Polaris. Its all about quality now, not loyalty.

Talk about brand loyalty, look at the Polaris boys still buying Polaris after the Fusion fiasco. Anyone that buys a first year sled has to expect a much higher chance of trouble, you are darn lucky if you have a first year sled with no problems.

Thats why I shrug off all the bickering about handwarmers and idler wheels, I could have done alot worse on a 1st year sled than my 06 GT. Our problems truly are minor in todays sledding world.
