Freaky
Wow, freaky deal... glad you were able to get back out, even though sounds like it burned up a few good days for you! :-/
If it were flooded, would have thought that the next day it would have popped off for you, and if it would have been fuel-starved I would have thought that a...
Nice sled bought right!
Wow, looks to me like you got a really good deal on that, congrats! Nice lookin sled... (I had an 03, have an 05 T-Vec now).
Mileage is about right on I would say... that tank will run you about 100 miles. One thing I noticed was cruising along on the trail, or...
skis
I got a set of PPD X-MT skis for my 03 RX1 when I had it... they are 7" wide as well, but have three carbides, and no darting whatsoever. $400 US when I bought them, but have liked them so far.
I now have an 05 Vector mountain, and going to be replacing the stock skis on it w/ the...
Why buy AV gas?!? :)
Haven't checked here in a while, missed Cousin Vinny's and Jim's posts! Man, can't wait to try out the mighty t-vec! Really I can't wait to mop up a few other Iowa boys on their little ol' 9 hundie Polaris'... ;)! Down to just a few days now before we head out...
RPM's
When you say SRX clutching... what exactly do you mean? Not sure if that's new this year, or if you ran that clutch set up last year... if new, I'd almost think that could cause the rpm dip more than the regearing.
And, chiming in w/ the others, very nice job on it, looks awesome...
Wildchild
I think it was around $190 shipped?
I think on your turbo sled you'll need to move your gauges and cut into the hood a bit to do the install. Probaby need to either relocate gauges to handlebars or to the old steering post hole...
Nomad
Was in the Snowiest this past February... came off a drop, didn't see that the trail I was going to land on dropped down even further, then came back up... I landed smack on the face of the incline, stopped me immediately! Amazingly, I ended up w/ just a headache (and a broken visor on helmet...
my $0.02...
Well, gosh, let me think about that, tough to decide what I would do...
NOT! :) SC, in my humble opinion, would be the way to go.
my sled is an 03 RX1 mountain which I threw a ton of mods at last year:
162 Challenger w/ Cat M7 skid (different drop brackets)
under tunnel...
Stiffer springs
I am having the same issue and have seen some other posts on this. I haven't fixed it yet, but have heard of two ways to fix it. Freelheeler on here found some blocks which essentially increase the pre-load. Also I'd read about being able to get stiffer springs (thicker wire)...
Not one which you listed, but
the polaris series iv track is pretty good. Not fully sure if they have it in a 151 (think they do), otherwise I'd say the challenger.
track speed
Not sure what the gearing's like on vector's, but maybe needs to be geared down a little? Buddy of mine got me started on gearing sleds down a while ago, and think it's a great thing. Limits a bit your overall top end, but never really a big deal to me as WFO on flat trails is...
overload blocks
Hey Joe... where'd you order the overload blocks from... straight from Cat, or somewhere else? I'm having the bottoming out problem as well. course being 270 fully geared up probably doesn't help. :exc:
I've been remiss in posting this. Had something happen to me in Cooke which made me glad I kept TORS enabled, and also gave me something else to check off and on.
So, we go tearing up one of the chutes to the right of Daisy Pass in Cooke. I made it up/turned around, biggdawg made it...
162 rails on m7 skid in rx1
Hey Joe, still liking that Camo Extreme? :) wicked track...
I would guess one would have to move the skid forward roughly 4.5". The reason that the 153" rails work on our sleds is cuz it's essentially a set-back skid. i.e. note how much space there is between...
