I just got done taking the rear all apart, and am attempting to bend the rails back. Got them back some, have some more to go yet. I know structurally it won't be as strong as stock, so I'm going to be reinforcing it to the max. If this were the beginning of the season I would have just...
Should have known better, did a pretty bad tail landing on accident and bent my rails up. Thought at first that I snapped my drive axle because it started ratcheting real bad (from the track loosening) luckily I was only a few hundred yards from my house. Guess I shouldn't have taken that one...
Mine broke at about 5,000 miles, last half of those were studded miles. Broke between chaincase and driver. Remember, lose your shaft, lose your brakes. If mine would have broke two miles earlier, I probably wouldn't be in any shape to be typing this right now. I'd change it.
I wrapped my muffler and pipes almost all of the header, pain to get it wrapped and secured enough. I didn't notice hardly any difference in the ice buildup, and now some of the wrap on the header is starting to come off after about 500 miles, so I'm going to have to remove the header pipe...
I put one in my '06 Attak, the ride was superior to stock in every condition. But it does not transfer weight nearly as much as the mono did, you will lose some mph on top end (if you care, I didn't). I had the on board air compressor, quite easy to adjust on the fly, plus mine had the Assault...
The one that was the most problem was the park brake cable, the others I don't think were that bad. If my sled was here I'd take a picture for you. Just take a good look at what would make sense, it for sure does work.
A few years ago in one of the magazine ads for the Apex you could see a piece of the cover on the bottom of the engine broken off, couldn't believe they let that one slip. ALWAYS have a skid plate. First ride out with my XTX I hit something and cracked the rear of the skid plate by the heat...
I was originally going to try plastic, this seemed liked it would be a little easier (in some ways) to install. I've been looking for another option also, but I hope you come up with one first, the sooner we get a fix, the better off we'll all be!
I know that over time the surface of it will wear out, just don't know how long. Actually this is rather thin, maybe a few mm. at most, could never catch a stud or anything like that. What I like about this is that even if the slippery surface wears out some, at least it covers up most of the...
This may be a bit premature since I don't have a lot of miles on it yet, but so far seems to work...
I took some Grace Ice and Water Shield and lined the sides of tunnel and the rear tunnel extension, this is the same product that is used on house roofs under the shingles. Very sticky on one...
