The next Yamaha Widetrack? 80FI-based pull-ease!

I guess I should purchase a play sled to break trails to my cabin, hunting grounds, and wood path, then return home to get the PRO to haul it all out. I thought the new vk would have been comparable to the old vk in deep snow, however that was a big disappointment.

The next Yamaha Widetrack? 80FI-based pull-ease!

I agree with ahamay, yamaha has not made any attempt in improving the Vk pro's con's. The utility sled market is thriving and Yamaha has fallen by the way side while BRP leads the market in sales ,technology and also several utility models to choose from. I cannot see myself buying another VK...

    Bearcat 570

Have to agree with eric , yamaha are definately left behind on the groomed trail , while the expedition is playing in the deep powder, it is just tooo heavy. Obviously yamaha are lacking, the desire to keep up with the competition in the utility market, they got the motor right but fell asleep...

Step out of the box Yamaha engineers!

I agree, yamaha is being left in the cold when it comes to the utiltity market, no new upgrades to the vk for 2010 . Definately need a new rear skid under that thing along with shedding a FEW pounds, Yamaha is probably the least seen in the back woods now, as before you could go anywhere and...

When is yamaha going to put a 24'' track under the vk pro, I think that would be the ultimate machine,

    shifting 07

There is a new updated trans gear for the shifting problem , had mine done and made a big differnce in shifting, I can actually shift between lo and reverse now and not have to fiddle with trying to get the gears to mesh, also had the new stronger reinforced rear suspension arms changed...

Grooming in Vermont with 08 VK Pro

The vent cover I believe is to help keep the windsheild from frosting over when riding in the powder, the snow gets on the rad and steams up the windsheild, at least thats what I'm told. Should sure help with cooling issues though.

    tunnel ice issues

Sure heat exchangers produce heat but not as much as the exhaust system including the muffler which blows HOT exhaust gases down onto the track. As for just cleaning it out in the morning with an axe , you need to do it several times if driving in the powder, the ice around the tunnel not a big...

    tunnel ice issues

Hi just wondering if anyone out there is having tunnel ice problems? Mine at times cloggs up with ice ,as well my upper idler wheels freeze and rub on the track, I have to beat the ice out to keep the wheels free, I have heard of several machines with blistering tracks and I am wondering if this...
