My 04 would pop and crack and backfire at times. installed 1 size larger pilots, took care of the promlem.

I love my 04 and will keep it till she dies! I am in the process of painting right now, fresh look for the upcoming season. maybe Ill post a pick when Im done.

I remove the choke cable, loosen the screws on the boots and pull the whole rack off. flip it upside down on the right side of the sled leaving the throttle cables on. lay a towel underneath and start pullin bowls.

hope you paint matches, i bought some in a spray can(not form color-rite) and it wasnt even close. the yamaha paint is a tricoat, the base is a light purple followed by a translucent blue and then a clear top coat. kind of a pain to paint, i know from experience. had to paint a 04 R1

You asked about an R1, I changed my plugs on my 04 with just over 15,000 miles. they were the originals and looked excellent. cleaned them and put them under the hood of my RX1 for spares.

IF you want GYT-R parts, there genuine yamaha, go to yamaha.com to the accessories. they still have stuff for the 03-05 RXs in there. will have to call a yamaha dealer to order them though.
