Is there a vacuum created at high boost? Or high velocity of air ?How's that? Isn't this tube between the airbox/filter and the turbo (no pressure)?

No. I believe it's all related to heat.Is there a vacuum created at high boost? Or high velocity of air ?

There is one failure that came off a stock sled (stock except for this tube).
My sled has lots of extra vents all over side panels (facing forwards and back side), 4 large holes behind intercooler, 4 large holes in plastic panel right in front of fuse block. All sealed with Frigzskin. That tube still melted.

It's MUCH less restrictive than not having those vents at all.Is this restrictive? If so, I'll get him to do something else.

I agree , however you’d be surprised at how much air actually gets through them .It's MUCH less restrictive than not having those vents at all.![]()

Frogskinz absolutely kills the airflow. I've tested them in front of an enclosed 4" Spal fan and don't even bother adding venting anymore if you need them to use them in the front to keep snow or powder out, cause they don't let much in for air either. That said, I vented the rear of my clutch side panel and just put in cat screen from the hardware store to keep big snowballs out of my 23. The larger screen like used in the front of the sidewinder stock vents allows much more air to enter the cowl, but they also allow snow and snow dust to enter as well.

Take the Frogskinz off here Jon and just use Cat screen from the hardware store glued in from behind. You will actually have airflow thru there. Would help immensely with reduced temps I would think.

Well boyz, there's a sucker born everyday and today, i'm it. Checked mine and it' was barely letting any air in. Instead of gaining 10hp, I'm losing 20. What a POS.
Is Hurricane doing anything to make this right? Any dealers here that can help?

I’d send Dave an email with those pictures. If more of these start failing hopefully he will address itWell boyz, there's a sucker born everyday and today, i'm it. Checked mine and it' was barely letting any air in. Instead of gaining 10hp, I'm losing 20. What a POS.

May as well send pics. Maybe you'll get a response.
I first sent mine about 6 weeks ago. So far, I know of 5-6 of these that have failed. All look same - sagged/melted. I wish I'd hear from Dave. Is Hurricane going to do anything about it? Can't just re-install stock tube because we had to cut it to put this thing on. They cost about $42. Then, if you didn't keep the rubber grommet, you need one of those. Plus, Hurricane sold us these things for $110.
Pls let us know if you get a response.
Tks.

It is 100% unacceptable that you aren't getting a response after such a long time. Does ANYONE answer the call when you call there? I'd be on his #*$&@ like a fly on #*$&@ if it happened to me.May as well send pics. Maybe you'll get a response.

In the grand scheme of things this is not that big of a deal. $170?!?!
I think in the back of our minds we all knew the minute we touched it, it was inferior. At least i did. Part felt too lite, no density to speak of. I believe Redline1 was the first to experience the issue, but we wrote it off, like he installed it wrong.
Its more about being a reputable supplier to his customers, which I am not.
TF, I was trying to give the benefit of doubt. I honestly didn't expect this issue to show up on a stock machine.
