How would one control this shock if you put a 06 apex skid in a RX1? Would you have to buy the display and would yamaha sell them seperate? Could you convert the EC ohlins to a manula one? Thanks

I remeber a box available from yamaha that would retrofit the electric shock to the 05 monoshock.I think I saw it on the yamaha site or in a yamaha accesory book.

For a -05 you will have to get the -05 Ohlins aftermarket shock absorber kit.
The separate control box is included in this kit.
I had it on my -05 (the separate control box is the thing to the left of the tach).
The -06 and -07 Ohlins aftermarket shock absorber kit is delivered without this control box.
This shock (as well as the standard GT shock) is just plugged into an existing electrical terminal behind the chaincase.
If you put a -06 or -07 shock into a -05 sled I am not quite sure which is the best way.
I would probably remove the existing wiring from the -06 shock and then try to get the separate control box (with wiring) from Ohlins.
Check with info@ohlins.se if they will let you buy the separate control box only.
If you do not like the electronically controlled compression valve there is also an option with a manually adjusted two-way (hi and lo speed) compression valve. By using an adaptor sleeve this one can be mounted in the same cylinder head as the EC valve.
