I can,t see an Attack beating a well tuned SRX on the big end....no how no way!

How many miles on the Attak? My Warrior only seemed to start to pull once I had 2000 miles on it.
My buddy had an SRX last year. Never really could get away from me in normal trail conditions, and in bumpy trail conditions the Attak runs away from it...

Ooouch!....I'm sure it doesn't help! Still it wasn't my first drag race and I just didn't think his SRX was that quick.
Where were you guys heading when we saw you Shaf? Have you rode your buddies GT to compare the ohlin e.c. vs. your e.r.?

SRXs would regularly radar over 120, and I haven't seen any RX1s that weren't turboed cracking that milestone. The Apexes might, but I agree, I find it hard to believe an Attak will have top end like that SRX does.
attack 136inch track, srx 121 inch track, srx is definately gonna have longer legs.... a 121 will always beat a 136,if all things are equal

Superman, I know for a fact that the 02 SRX can be beat on hard pack trails. A friend has one and we used to run it against my old 03 RX1. Even the RX-1 in stock form, I could still pull him in the trails. Now we never ran top end across any lakes as he might of beat me then. Now my Attak has 200 miles on it and rpms climb right to 10,000 and creep to 10,500. On semi packed trails, we were seeing speedo readings of 117 so around 100 mph gps or a little better. Attak all stock no studs. My guess is the 1.5" track is killing your top end. But why is it not killing his :?:
Red800, I used to think long tracks are suppose to be slower too, but mine runs even with Apex GT's. Ask Nos-Pro how his runs aganist the Apex. He recorded 116.7 on snow/ice same as the shorties that were running stock 1.25 rips not the .920 tracks.

A well set up SRX is tough to beat. Ask some of the new Mach Z owners, they will attest to that. I know a buddy of mine will agree, his Mach might take me in a mile but in 2000 feet it never happend.. He did have alot of problems with sled (05) and are supposed to now be fixed, we will find out soon.
People can talk all they want but I'd be carefull when taking on the old srx. Not that they can't be beat, alot of them are running around with stuck power valves, crappy track's, modifications that actually hurt the performance. But when they are set up.......SRX=Fast

My SRX that my buddy had was clutched nicely with 192 picks. Like I said To beat him that bad with a broken rear bogie wheel makes me think it will still take mods but not alot just the right setup you HAVE to get the power to the groundbilljd said:Like I said, you will need mods to beat a stock srx IMO. Not sure if you will need them on the Apex or Apex GT yet, I hope not as I can see one in my future.Blue Me said:My 03 RX-1 with HH, ECP, 192 1.175 gold diggers and digitally synched carbs and custom Helix and secondary would smoke my 2001 SRX that I sold to my buddy. I could get him from the whole shot he'd come on strong up till about 70mph then it was bye bye time. This happened time and time again across the lakes running from Elliot Lake to Spanish in Ontario if anyone knows the run and ya know what..........I had a broken bogie wheel in the back!!!!

Yes i agree that the srx's are a very fast sled, but one thing that would make the apex a faster sled than it already is would be to lower it somehow, like the srx.I had a 97' 700 and in 01' a bought another 700, there was 10 to 12 miles an hour difference on the top end. with the clutches and gearing out of the '97 and into the'01 there was still 5 to 6 miles difference on the top end. this was on a secondary road very hardpack and they both had one inch tracks.

All in the SRX's setup. Like someone said above, the 01' SRX 700 holds the record to date. I'm sure they aren't all that fast, but the one being tested that day sure was. And anyways it's not like you have a SLOW sled by any means. You're sled is better in every aspect but maybe 1, the drag race. But oh well.........if it really bothers you I SUPPOSE I'll trade you my 01' SRX for your Attack.......
I hate to, but I'm all about making fellow TY'ers happy. Send me a PM..........!!!!!!
