I was wondering if everbody is happy with their handwarmers. Mine never seem to get hot no matter what. I have checked the power going into the warmers and it only indicates 2-3 volts is this correct. Their just not like the srx when it comes to heat.

Mine seem to vary, but it could be the weather conditions that makes it seem that way. There are times they will cook my hands...at the middle setting my gloves will be steaming when I take them off the grips. Other times, it seems they aren't even on, or are on very low.

Happy with mine. Never had it above half because the damn things get too hot. Most times I ride with 2-3 bars showing.

The voltage won't go up until the engine hits crusing speed. I have mine rigged to drop down to 3 bars on startup - good for normal conditions. If its really cold, I put them up no higher than 5 bars.

No problem with the hand warmers except that they get too hot. I usually ride with them on one bar, if any. In 0 or minus 0 I've had them up to 4 or 5 bars. My problem is my hands getting too sweaty then my gloves get wet. Wish we had the preset adjustment on the '03.

Annie: Try using thinner gloves....I use the Mechanix style tool gloves.
They work awesome with the handguards.

Do they keep your hands dry too? I've started carrying at least 3 pair of gloves for a day out sledding. One is a thin pair that I start out with. I'm always looking for a better glove!

The only reason that my hands get wet is from sweat. So for me they keep my hand dry.
I keep 2 pairs with me and a set of thick glove just in case it drops to below -20 C.

Mine never get hot either! I had them in to the dealer and they still don't work right. I do have the aluminum handlebar ends and perhaps they are sucking the heat out?

I have aluminum bar ends and the grips are still hot. I'm not much on the mechanical end, but maybe there's a loose connection or something. Wish mine didn't work so well sometimes!
Thanks to everyone that replied.I to have the bar ends.I removed them thinking that they were drawing the heat away from the grips. I even insulated the inside of the bars no help. This past weekend I had to resort to gauntlets to keep my hands warm. They look funny but boy did they keep my hands warm only needed two bars to stay warm and I dont mean the ones with a pooltable and juxbox

My hand warmers act exactly like yours do. My hands are almost always cold when its below 0, and when isn't it? Then sometimes they suddenly feel like a frying pan. I have the aluminum bar ends as well, but it did it before too. I even added handgurd guards. I must admitt I run a short windshield so I really shouldn't complain about being cold. I can't bring myself to the guantlets.

I thought that as well at first. When I installed the ends the instuctions warned about cutting the wires. I don't know about you but I didn't see any wires in the bar ends. My problem sounds a little different. Sometimes they work better than others. As soon as I get some time, later next week, I'm going to try a complete trouble shoot. I ride with guys who have sleds 5 + years old and they all say thier hands cook while I'm holding mine over the exhaust. Its the only thing I don't like about the machine right now.
