the jackshaft bearing i just bought was a skf, they are suppose to be a very good quality bearing, and like 11.00 compared to 50.00 yamaha price

Good chance you bought the wrong bearing. The bearing you need has a (K) in the part number which calls out tapered bore. 6206K with double seals. I think you have to buy this through OEM.

i had them cross that bearing number on the bearing and he said it was just a straight 2rs 6206, is that not right? what are the proper numbers then?

A straight 6206 2rs is just the bearing with two (rubber seals) 2RS. You want a 6206K which has the tapered bore. I think Koyo is the manufacture and they only make this bearing for Yamaha. The K calls out the tapered bore 6206K 2RS is what you want.
